Very important right now: know your rights

And equally important or more importantly and not mentioned in any other post where tempers are flaring and people are acting out emotionally: Know what your rights are... NOT.

They do not include blocking physical access to any public building, or way, and this include blocking public access points like roads, or even sidewalks. You have a right to protest on a sidewalk, but you cannot use your physical presence to block it from anyone else.

It does not include interfering in any way with anyone else's ability to enjoy or express their own rights or counter protest.

There are often state and federal laws related to volume, which need to be considered.

Some states or towns, or even locations have laws requiring them to register the days and times ahead, make sure you know that and have your paperwork in place.

Being "intimidating" is actually against the law, such as suggesting violence even if you don't physically carry it out.

Spitting actually is and has been considered assault, as settled by case law. You may just be hearing about that now because one particular person said it, but it has been that way for far longer.

Interfering with any attempt to carry out an order by authorities is illegal, whether the order they're attempting to carry out is legal or not, that is for the courts to decide, not you, and interfering in such is considered illegal, and obstruction.

Last but not least and from the above point, above all else keep it civil, and keep your hate directed towards proper sources (though hate should be  too strong of a word, but if you must act emotionally), for example, do not hate nor take it out on any law enforcement or people that are merely doing the job they've been assigned to do. They may not like or agree with it either, simply doing what they're told. They're people too, they have families, husbands, wives, children, they are not just the task they've been ordered to do.
Also making their job harder as well as making it worse on yourself and other future protestors by breaking any law while doing so, especially burning or breaking anything, gives a lot more power to those trying to shut down all protests.

Keep that in mind.

Last but not least, while I'm sure I'll get a lot of blocks for this anyway, particularly from anyone who doesn't read this last part: This is in no way supporting any political party, affiliation, person, or group, I would say the same about any protest be it in support of, or against any political party or individual.  Merely offering both advice and tips, as well as speaking my mind, which at this point, is still legally allowed whether anyone agrees with it or not  :P
