12 years on IB

by
Damn... I feel old now :p . It really doesn't seem like its been that long, even though I didn't use my account much until late 2015, so technically its 10 years of being active, but still damn 12 years, where's a DeLorean set to only go back in time when you need one. I can say that the platform has largely stayed the same, the community has changed alot for good, and for bad, but in the big picture its still the same IB I remember from long ago; I can't say that for most sites on the internet, most have went through the "enshittification" process and are now just a dried out shell of what they used to be *cough* youtube *cough*

Here's hoping for another 12 years and loads more lewd nude stuff :)

Congrats on 12 years, but the wikipedia article uses the (recently made up) buzzword to excuse the media's loss of control (control the media should not have) as a "business vs customer" problem by re-framing it using his encyclopedia of narrative.  The narrative he gives is an attempt to salvage the media empire via "damage control."

It was the censorship that destroyed all of the websites.  Tumblr being the most obvious example, it was censored into oblivion overnight.  Reddit was destroyed through the mods using a tool that banned you for posting in subreddits the mods did not have direct control over (and many of the mods on reddit are paid employees or are farming "engagement" to sell).

Youtube is probably the least censored, but mostly due to the volume and size of the site and the feasibility of actually censoring it.  All of the big channels are heavily censored, and many of them are also working for one of a few large media corporations, which you basically have to join to get the channel above a certain size (and to be immune from the censorship so long as you follow script).

Its wikipedia, they're not exactly un-biased xD

But yeah it all boils down to censorship, and just an anomaly I've noticed, it seems like where there is more censorship, the style of a website degrades into a very flat and boring style. From Frutiger Aero and bright colors in the 2000s, and around 2012, everything seemed to start going to the bland, gray corporate style. Even stores took on the style, McDonalds being an example, they went from fun to flat in their building style.

Each of the "[ ]" with a number inside of it is a link to the "source" on wikipedia.  See how the only ones on this article are mainstream media fronts.  Wikipedia regarding "new words" is the media monopoly.  There is only one media allowed, but with hundreds of alt accounts and paid faces for the owner to speak through.

The design change was from anything and everything into "black cube."  Remember when you could set a banner, or have autoplay music on your tumblr or myspace?  Now, you can hardly set a profile picture or a username, and you're not allowed to communicate beyond a certain number or they shut you down for some other made up narrative.
