So, I agree that gay men should be allowed to selfship with fictional women and lesbians should be allowed to selfship with fictional men because they're fictional characters and do not reflect people's real interests. Most of the selfshipping community seems to agree on that, too.
But the second someone wants to selfship with a FICTIONAL, CARTOON CHILD, suddenly they're a pedophile.
If we can agree there's nothing wrong with lesbians selfshipping with fictional men and gay men selfshipping with fictional women, why can't we agree there's nothing wrong with selfshipping with fictional children/teenagers? How is one any different from the other? We're both selfshipping with a character type we wouldn't be attracted to in real life. It's just fiction.
An argument I see often is that being attracted to men/women doesn't hurt anybody, and being attracted to children does. While I agree that this is true in the case of real people, pixels on a screen cannot be harmed by people creating and looking at porn of them. And then you have the "fiction affects reality" crowd, with which I strongly disagree, as no sane person would look at cartoon porn and decide to go out and touch a minor.
So, why is some harassment over fiction okay and some not okay? It's all the same thing, just in a different form.
