I just wanted to share that I created a somewhat extensive tutorial on how to download Inkbunny galleries with gallery-dl.
I did try to reformat it to fit in this journal but... it just doesn't work out too well! So please see my original post on the StellarFur Forums, it should tell you all you need to know. 💜 Feel free to ask questions here if you need anything, though.
For a bonus tip, consider trying out the --write-metadata option to get a .json file for each image that includes the description, tags and more!
Now, beyond that I am painfully aware of just how far behind I am on my communications, and how many of you are waiting on a reply from me. Life has been... a lot for me, lately. Not for any particular reason, even, I just get this way from time to time. Where my brain doesn't really work so well, especially with regards to socialization. You might even notice that I made the original tutorial a month ago... yeah, my brain is not working well.
I am deeply sorry — but if you know me well, you probably also know that this is more or less just how I am. I'm afraid it's liable to happen again. I appreciate your patience, and don't feel bad about giving me a poke here and there to nudge me along.
Wishing you all the best in these trying times, ~Luna loves you
What a well timed journal! I am personally going to try gallery-dl for Inkbunny archival, and will have the unique ability to report on how it interacts with a moderator account to both the devs and the staff here!

Eee, I'm glad! And if there is absolutely anything I can do to assist or take part in archival projects, please do let me know! It's a lifelong passion of mine and a big goal for my 2025 to properly archive the many, many artists I follow over all my sites. Seeing e621 nuke lolisho content without a single word of warning was a big wake-up call for me. Not to mention Baraag's data loss incident, as well.
I've prioritized Twitter so far since accounts frequently vanish overnight (& so many are leaving for greener pastures), and consider my archive pretty built-out there, at over 2,500 accounts. Though I'd really like for a way to save more than just the media files, I think it's time to turn my attention to Inkbunny & Baraag/Aethy. I'd like to cross-reference with e621 & AllTheFallen's booru at some point, too.
For proper archival, definitely see the complete options page! I think the metadata options are probably the most relevant, but there's also an option for creating some sort of SQL database of the downloaded files. I don't fully understand it yet but I think the goal is to save on bandwidth/server requests, which wasn't something I cared about with Twitter but definitely need to look into if I'm going to be continually updating IB galleries!

No, I just stuck it on my drive and either 'wine IBDownloader2.exe' from the command line, or right-click it and 'Open with Wine Windows Program Loader' in my file manager.
I could futz around and add it as a program to my menus, but I'm lazy.
(Obviously, you need to have wine installed.)

Sadly Windows 10 broke mine and it was downloading zero-byte files for a while before I noticed....
I know there are instructions on how to fix it, but I'm a 'lil too slow to have done so easily, and I figured if I was going to learn how to patch my registry then I'd rather just learn a more powerful command line tool. I really like the option to save metadata! Though I should double check if IBDL2 actually extracts stories properly, unlike the gallery-dl tool....
