Today is my 41st birthday. Happy birthday me.
Don't have much in the way of plans, other than chilling, maybe watching some movies, and eating some cheesecake.
Because screw birthday cake, I CHOOSE PIE!

Edit: I did this a day early. Because that's how fucking out of it I've been the last few weeks.
Fuck it, I'll just celebrate a day early this year!

Happy birthday! What pie may I ask? I'm partial to cherry, apple, pumpkin, rhubarb, and pecan.

Edit: Oof. I should have read more comments. Never had a strawberry pie before.

Well, the one I have right now is just regular cheesecake with strawberries on top. But I have had it with strawberry preserves / jam mixed in, and with a strawberry drizzle. I would have gotten pumpkin cheesecake if it were in season, but that's hard to fine as just a little 3 inch personal pie, especially on a budget. And I didn't feel like making it, lol.

I highly recommend strawberry rhubarb pie if you are a fan of things on the slightly tart side. It can be a little gooey and messy, but that's part of the fun. Can be a little hard to find, since rhubarb is a thing from the northern parts of North America, closer to Canada.

I love me a gooey butter cake from St. Louis and I occasionally drink pure tart cherry juice so... that sounds like a win win to me. Also I live near the Amish so they got them good pies. It is a real treat.

Ah, nice. I grew up in Western New York, just outside of Buffalo. Quite a few Amish over there, too. Also some amazing Jewish bakeries. Can't quite get the same stuff down here in Texas, especially good pizza and wings. But, we do have some pretty good barbeque down here, and surprisingly good coffee, so that makes up for it a bit.

I actually haven't had the chance to try them yet. I've been meaning to, I just haven't made the time for it. There's even one that's just around the corner. There was a place around here called Opal Divine's, and they had amazing wings, but they sadly closed during lockdown and never opened again.
