TES IV Remastered

Hey there!

What are your opinions on the newly remastered Oblivion? I have a bit more than 5 hours in it by now, and I freaking love it so far. I know 5 hours is nothing in a The Elder Scrolls game but they really kept the feeling and the overall deign of the original game. My 2 favorite things are the slightly improved leveling system, finally the game no longer punishes you for doing what you supposed to. And the best, the khajiits, I don't get the urge to laugh every time I talk to them. The kittys are looking pretty dope.

Do you have anyting else you like or dislike about it?

There are a LOT of bugs, I am on the Knights of Nine quest and can not get the gauntlets as I can not take a guys curse off, on another quest I know who stole a painting and can not get her to confess, the Worst bug is the random crash on a Transition screen when you change rooms leave towns etc

But I like the game just wish they would fix the bugs faster

That's interesting. I had the same problem with the Chorrol investigation quest in the original game, but here it went smoothly.
So far the only bug I ran into was with the saves. When i died and wanted to load a save, I only had like 2 saves from the beginning of the game. But after I closed and restarted the game I've got my saves back. I hope I won't run into random crashes.

I have heard there are two work around, complete uninstall and reinstall. and or wait 72 hours as the issue comes from a bug in the cloud file save they built in and that pulls a reset very 72 hours that clears the crash bug

I’ve been having tons of fun with it. It’s been 10+ years since I played the game on the 360. Looks amazing. Only bugs I’ve seen are the silly ones. Like sometimes the wolves will back peddle their steps and it looks so damn funny. I did run into performance issue inside the “Derelict Mine.” There was so many goblin entities in a single cell. Was still cool though. Seeing the two goblin tribes battling.

Yeah I heard that it can make your setup sweat in a few areas, luckily I can potatofy my game if that happeds.

Still not sure how I feel about Weebam-Na's replacement voice - on one paw, his new voice when he starts talking about rats makes him sound far more...obsessed about his extreme dislike of them, but on the other, I am very used to his original voice.

I've only been in Chorrol so far so I haven't met him yet, but I suppose he has the general Argonian voice, which I find more expressive than the original. What I find stange, is that the khajiits' are voiced by the same person who voiced them in Skyrim (if I'm not mistaken), but if the player's character is a khajiit it's grunting/pain noises are the original.

I'm enjoyingit yself, It's gota few bugs but not enough to make it NOT enjoyable, Playing a version of my rogue tabaxi asa kahjiit. LOL All in all, Fun but not 100% great.

Honestly? After knowing Skyrim in and out and knowing of how things go in that game, the remaster is a blessing of the nine from it. Oblivion is so much better than Skyrim in my opinion, it is just crazy. NPCs are made more living, quests actually feel alive, the world feels so much more unique. It's crazy, I like it.

I have to agree with you. The only reason I rated Skyrim higher than Oblivion is Oblivion's shity leveling system. But with this little modification it beats Skyrim so far, in my opinion.

I’ve been trying to play on the hardest difficulty, master I think it’s called, and a freaking mud crab actually killed me when I got out of the sewers X3 never in my life has a mud crab been more fearsome than me haha

lol the same happend to me, the only difference I play on expert, but that same mudcrab killed me with 2 or 3 hits XD

The struggle is real, but I’m here for it and I’m enjoying every minute of it! I might have to make a cub version of The Gray Fox or make some Oblivion era companions :3

Hehe, I just made up the Rex part cuz I missread his name at the first time. I read Hilarious Rex instead of Hieronymus Lex (dunno how). But if we stick to the Rex it's a pretty common dog name.
