The fandom has a problem, one that has gotten on my nerves lately, has made me scared to admit to taking a small part in and that it needs to handle. The problem, Is AI.
Now i am not entirely against it. Hell i have used it myself on occasion to make a scene for a story or create a character. So I can see some merits to it, it's a tool at best, a toy, something to play with if your bored, or use it to help with: Poses, Proportions, backgrounds, character creation, scene building, and maybe a few more things. However that is NOT something that is happening 8 out of 10 times.
We as a fandom need to stop encouraging those that post AI images and claim they are an artist. Sure its fun to look at and be proud of, but... meh? They didn't do anything unique that cant be copied by someone else. There is so many who are opening Patreons, and what they are posting is making it to the popular tab here, on Inkbunny. When i last browsed it, it was 80% AI images.
Inkbunny, needs to change their code, and enforce that any images with 'AI' anywhere in the tag list, are Banned from the popular list... hell id say from being faved too. It is offensive that they haven't taken the initiative, or the heavy suggesting from users, to do so already. Inkbunny is the only one of the furry sites i know of (FA, Sofurry, Weasyl, E621) that permits AI generated works. But by doing so they have a responsibility to stop people trying to use it for fame and fortune.
