Yep, one year, right down to the day. It's been an interesting ride; I started drawing some years ago, but didn't really do anything remotely serious (or particularly furry) until August of 2023. Come January of last year, I decided to commit to drawing more regularly, and by the time April 26th rolled around, I decided to just go ahead and post something already, dammit!
It is also worth noting that I actually began drawing digitally years ago, albeit with borrowed equipment. Unfortunately, I can't really get over the disconnected feel of a screenless tablet - thus, the swap to graphite.
I chose Inkbunny because it allowed name changes. I've had this account for years, same as a few other sites, but it'd sat pretty much unused since day 1, and I'd long since forgotten about it until I tried to make a new account and got an error message. Anyway, I wanted a handle that wasn't some dumb throwaway, and I wasn't about to delete any old accounts, so IB it was. I like my current signature; it's just the letter W, but the stylization is fun, and I will die on the hill of datestamped signatures.
I didn't really anticipate - and haven't attempted to obtain, for that matter - a following here. To this day I have yet to link anyone this page; perhaps that will change someday, and if someone happens across it I'll have no qualms, but I'm fine with this. I didn't quite consider myself a furry until late last year anyway.
Wait, what? Drawing furry lewds without considering oneself a furry? Yeah, it was sort of silly, but it was more a social concern than one of preferences, as tends to be the case. Last December was just when it felt right, since I'd given myself most of the year to seriously consider it. I've since attended a furcon with some friends, which was a load of fun, and I met a bunch of swell folks there.
Past that I don't have much to say. It's been fun improving my art skills, though I really ought to try out a genuine art course like Drawabox. I'm also still stubborn about using references, and I could probably count the number of reference images used for every piece I've uploaded on at most two hands. So it goes.
So here's to another year, eh? Special thanks to those who have shown support and feedback so far - it's always a welcome surprise to see that little yellow homepage notification.
Lastly, I'm working on a little comic. It'll be real short - a couple pages tops - but I've been enjoying the process. It's a follow-up to/reimagining of an older piece of mine.
