I don't normally put anything political here, but there have been people talking about being transgender or otherwise intersex. Whatever your opinions on the subject, this is the law in the United Kingdom. And the celebrations don't just come from conservatives.
One could make the case that someone who is surgically altered could technically be a woman. But just calling yourself one when you still have male parts is a lie. Just as you cannot call yourself a police officer if you are not employed as such, or a soldier if you never served in the military, or a Chippewa Indian if you are not of Chippewa Indian descent.
