apparently inkbunny is deleting 3d renders on mass??

So, two channels I follow got hit, and I get the sense that it's only a matter of time before I get hit as well.

I have NO IDEA why this is happening now! Last time I checked, this waste an issue until now, but if it's anything like New Grounds and sfm renders (even though there are plenty of them still on there somehow) then I'm gonna have my bloody work nuked off the site. why? Again, I have no idea. From what I heard, it's a mod or admin or something.

But it looks like posting to different sites helped mitigate this problem. So that's a relief. But it does beg the question of what happens after the fact.

I'd straight up leave, I know when I'm not wanted and its pretty clear the gits doing this has no love for 3d aritsts. But I have to say I've been on this site for 5 years now, all that's gonna be gone in one move. hope the staff know what they're doing because if they're not careful, their gonna lose more people as time goes on. And while this site has its problems.

It's not a bad site by any stretch of the imagination.

The rules don't allow for using 3d models that were not made by you. It's been against the Acceptable Content Policy since at least 2011, we just have staff now to better enforce it.

So basically, you're going to wipe 99.9% of 3D arts from IB? And you're perfectly fine with a swarm of AI-generated art, where people using other's loras and models. And you're perfectly fine with human porn here.

I've been here for more than eleven years mastering my scene composing and modelling skills, got a lot of friends and fans, and you're going to wipe this all because "SCREENSHOTS" are not allowed?!

Our art (most of it) are NOT screenshots. It takes a lot of time to render the scene, unlike a screenSHOT that takes a millisecond

I was watching you long before I was made a moderator, and I'm take that as the royal you as I've never said I was fine with AI art. I do not make policy, and as I said that has been the rule since 2011, just poorly enforced.

i get the sense this is gonna become one of those conversations, mate.

I will throw my two cents in here and say there are plenty of issues with AI. The main ones are that it steals art, and the fear that it will replace artists. (It won't, but the fear is understandable) AI, in my mind, works best as a way to test and experiment with designs and ideas.

The reason why people use them is that it's free to do so. However, the good (or bad, depending on whether you want to spend money) news is that it is slowly changing and will eventually become a service you have to pay for properly. The best outcome at that point would be to have AI art stay at a certain level of quality and have real artists take the creations the AI makes and turn them into something good. hell, I did this not too long ago with a frog bimbo, true story.

fortheremore ai does have the real potential to become an asset to artists, however currently speaking all its good for creating decent to shit tier art which on its own wouldnt be a bad thing if it werent free and people having tendecy to just dump all the excesses bits and pieces. which all it does just cause the art to seem more like crap by comparson. Quality and quantity are two very different things, and in the case of the arts, quality will always beat quantity.

some people dont do this and actually makes some decent shit like making small comics out of the best renders they can get but their the exception, not the rule.

While I personally think there is room for 3D artists, there is also no desire for people to just be posting screenshots of Second Life or VR Chat. Until such time as the ACP is updated, renders are currently covered by the rules on screenshots. More specifically, most render removals have been due to violating the following rule:

" No screenshots from games or other software unless they show your own artwork or creations. Your creations in the screenshot must be original and not just modifications of standard avatars, models, templates, etc that come with the software or that you purchased from other creators.

If you created the 3D models that you use, then you are fine. If you are using models created by others or ripped from games, then your submissions are not allowed on Inkbunny.

If you made the models yourself, then you're good. If you used models made by other people, then no.

Mate most 3d artists use assets and models created by other 3d artists that were given out to the public. Not all of us can create models of our own yet or have the desire to do so. i can only speak for myself when i say I've been learning to but at most i can only modify an already existing model into a new one. which time and effort to do so.

There's also the matter of models in the map that are used as assets to help bring it together. would i have to create my own maps?

In those cases, there are other sites that are better suited for that content than Inkbunny. According to the current rules, the models must have been made by the artist.

As for background models, I believe that, in practice, that has generally not been a major area of concern. Ideally, background models which were not created by the artist should be credited but, from what I've seen, it's the focal characters that are most important.

I won't argue with you on the current rules for obvious reasons. However, I can say that for people like me who work hard to make good stuff for people to enjoy, this rule doesn't take into account the process of making said art. I would also like to add that there probably are other sites better for this sort of thing, but as an artist, your goal is to spread your art to many sites that will accept it. For obvious reasons, I'm sure you understand. But in all honesty, I do have a soft spot for the site, as it's how I met servals friends whom I chat with now and then. A  couple of whom I play dnd with. Go figure.

i'll be real mate, we would give more credit to other artists but 9 times of 10 we grab the models of the characters we want and its not that we don't want to give credit, its after its all said and done, you either end up for forgetting the name of the artist or think to yourself  "ok the pics finally done, now to post it. oh wait i should give credit to-" and then you realized you cant be bothered to add a few text and WANT IT BE DONE! "eh they know their apprcriated, post."

So I've bought a 3060ti just to make screenshots?

This is VERY insulting when somebody calling a "screenshot" something that's taking more than an hour to render
