For now, movies seem far away. Just like when it comes to coding with AI, it still lacks the "long term thinking" and ability to split up the large problem into doable parts that are still fitting into a comprehensive project. That's why it cannot create a significant whole software on its own and video is limited to one scene usually.
But one day it could be entire movies indeed...

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the quality of synthography is skyrocketing and the quality of actual movie studios is... extremely not. I'm willing to bet the overtake will happen sooner than we expect.
