I'd say go for it, it is probably the least toxic social media and you usually get better engagement than twitter

It isnt toxic like twitter, but it has the issue that many dont interact with anything cub related bc it can put your profile on some Do-not-follow list that ppl use to blacklist anyone that even gives a like to it, plus there have already been cases of mass reports to sfw cub art accs, but its a cool place still despite everything.

I have a lot of personal bias against Bluesky... But other than my bias, there are some things you have to be mindful of:
1. Despite their claim of being decentralized, it is more heavily centralized than most. When you join it, it will force you into your country's moderation list, and said moderation list is handled by the authorities of your country, which allows them to control way too much of what you can see, effectively letting them have a Ministry of Truth, if you are familiar with the concept.
2. As opposed to what Twitter did/does, you will NOT be in the know of when you are put into a list (for better or worse), and you can't opt out of it (which is actually worse). And people will use lists to label others, of course.
3. The blocking system there works like Twitter used to in the past, which is actually dangerous for a different reason: if you get stalked or doxxed, the culprit can block you to prevent you from reporting them, resulting in a VERY dangerous situation. There's a good reason Twitter eventually changed that to "blocking only prevents replies and engagement (likes, follows, DMs), but allows public tweets to remain visible."
4. Despite claims, Bluesky has near zero AI Scraper protection. The only known protection is a moderation list you have to find and opt in. So if you think about putting art there, either poison it or watermark the hell out of it (which, believe it or not, is something I've seen Deviant Artists do WAY before Generative AI was a concern!).
5. Despite claims, Bluesky does have toxicity! It's just that you have to dive into Discover to come across it (like in Twitter).

Despite being the supposed 'least toxic' social media site, I experienced more toxicity there than anyplace else I've tried to make a home for myself online. Most of that came from babyfurs as a fun aside. :p

Not sure if it still works but go look up some bsky accounts you might follow on the clearsky app to see what kind of blocklists/etc people have thrown them into (that you'll get thrown in by proxy): https://clearsky.app/

From what I heard It's as much of a toxic dumpster fire as twitter and with abusive mods and sitewide cub/lolisho ban on too of it. I'd stay away from it.

Being very honest, the acceptance is like any other platform and I imagine with time it will get more restrictive. However, it is more artwork oriented in some cases and people are more prone to just block or ignore those that dont vibe with them. Otherwise it comes to being another platform to post stuff, which to some people can very much handle and other don't. I dont see a downside not to join, but as with any platform stuff will probabbly change in the future.

It was good early on, but then a mass exodus happened from here and Twitter just like from Tumblr to Twitter and I cannot go one second without a shread of politics being shoved into my face, when I just want to see some goods…

BS is fine as a backup to twitter but they still have thier own sources of toxicity.

a lot of main use for the site just seems to exist so that people can go there to complain about twitter.

the only boon is that there aren't ads under every posts but the art/thot/AI bots already made thier home there.

Bluesky is awesome! I recommend it. Here's the downside to it tho, back when it was super popular admist the whole political upheaval with X. It's nsfw l*li content was on fire, then lately there's been a crackdown on it and most of them were not even warranted, but not the sfw things that you spoke about posting, so you'll be fine.

I personally haven't had an issue with it. I'm not super active there ATM but I follow and comment on many people and I really enjoy. The overall attitude seems to be pretty nice

1. Bluesky is not politics (whatever the fuck that means) its a social media site just like Twitter. You can curate your feeds to not see politics. My Bluesky isn't filled with politics

2. I'm a leftist not a neo-liberal. Hi, actual user of Bluesky here.

If you like casually talking to (or posting smut for) the well adjusted normies that specifically fled Twitter then it's highly recommended. However, just like many before, you will eventually get banhammered personally if you post cub smut. Plus, Bsky is still a WIP of twitter in terms of utility (the private account feature does not exist yet) so it is not perfect but unlike the current twitter, it works and doesn't have an algorithm to fuck with your account's visibility.

That said, if you don't really like talking or image compression then Itaku might be a better fit as a non-cub gallery.

I would follow. My NSFW Bluesky does really well. even with my cub loli and shota stuff. You just gotta be careful in tagging it.
