I am majorly conflicted about leaving this site tbh. Quite a few things to consider.
On the side of leaving…
Besides the recent issue of finding out GreenReaper is a major transphobe, there’s been other reasons I’ve wanted to leave for a while now. Not least of which is the site’s reputation as a whole, and the content that is approved to be on the site. I have a long time friend who knows I have an account on this site, and they strongly believe that the only people who actively use this site are, to put it gently, either the perpetrators or victims of grooming. Ignoring the whole “it’s just fantasy” debate, I don’t want to be grouped in with that category of people. Hence, why I want to end my association with the site.
On the side of staying…
I’ve seen other creators making statements that they are going to stay on the site in spite of GreenReaper’s anti-trans statements, saying that a mass exodus of LGBTQ individuals would be playing right into his transphobic hands, getting rid of all those pesky pronoun users. So, there’s part of me as well that wants to stay just to spite him, as a bit of a “fuck you, trans people aren’t going anywhere!” So many places, both online and in person, are trying to make it less safe to exist as a trans person. And I’m all for a good fight to prove I as a transgender person deserve to exist in public just the same as any cisgender person.
So, I don’t know what to do right now. I’ll wait a bit to see if InkBunny makes any official statements. But still, follow me elsewhere just in case I do decide to delete my IB accounts.
If anyone has anything to add to convince me either to stay or to go, let me know.
