This is just a motivational and sentimental moment for me that I thought I’d share but I’ll try to keep it brief.
Most of you probably think that artist do/make art because they love it or maybe they’re just looking for a new hobby. This is true for most other artist I’ve talked to.
However for me art has been many things and these stem from how I grew up and viewed art.
1. It was and still is a gateway.
I didn’t have any or many friends growing up and rarely left the house because of this and my main gateway to connecting to the outside world is art in many ways, so it became something more for me than just the usual. I find y’all who watch for my art to be that way of connecting to a wider world that I might have not ever gotten to see had it not been for my love for art.
2. I find it fun.
Like some artist it is a stress reliever and often is the main one for me. Not long ago I had something similar to a mental breakdown or anxiety attack when I hadn’t done anything art related outside of school and took me about a full day to calm back down.
3. It’s been a motivation
For those that don’t know my grandma is a professional artist and I’ve always looked up to her and asked her for advice and she was my motivation to start and still keep going that it turned into my major for college.
