Since I'm trying to really work out some ideas and game feel. Idea is for a wargame based on classic chit and hexes for easy unit and map creation in paper and computer. Setting wise a very goofy idea of a D&D setting that progressed to modern day. It's 1999 and a new morning is dawning on the Coalition of Man (all those misfit monsters having been exiled out of the cities). Soon all shall be immortal as they seal away the forces of Chaos and Negative energy planes to become a new Utopia to bring order to all the planes....
but something went wrong. On New Years 2000 not a soul was left in any of the cities. The Coalition turned in one fell swoop into mad shades as the world wrenched under their gross hubris. But now all those they had held under their 'civilized' hands are free. The cities beckon, gleaming in magical and technological splendor even still. Just beware, for things from beyond space and time hunt under the neon and plastic jungle left behind.
And so now all those Kobolds, goblins, orcs, gnolls, and other D&D beasties who've been so long held down by the man scavenge at the edge of cities full of Dark Souls bosses =D Idea is a sort of two step game. You have a Tribe turn, recruiting, building up, fortifying, all that fun home base stuff like in Darkest Dungeon. Dealing with other nearby groups.
Then you can lead raids, which play out as a hex based wargame. Typically 6-12 squads of troops, maybe a vehicle or two. About 40K feel in army size, but instead of a squad of 10, it's just one unit marker. Cyberpunk magical combat, so lots of focus on getting vantage points and setting up firing lines and entrenching a hex side. idea originally was inspired by a shadowrun simplified gang warfare game, but I wanna game where I get to run a bunch of cutebolds around causing mayhem =D
Sloooowly working out rules for it. Inspired heavily by shadowrun and Mordheim, it involves buckets of D6s of course. Goal is to eventually make a computer version that runs a simple roguelite. Building up over a set time with a few boss fights and some random skirmishes between them. If you've ever seen the campaign rules for 40K or played Necromunda, wanting that kind of vibe. Turning your squad of kobold office workers into a well oiled and equipped team of doom.
