"Forbidding Unlawful Representation of Roleplaying in Education Act, pet-named the F.U.R.R.I.E.S Act"
America's going craaaaazy.
Funnily enough, won't surprise me if that has the opposite effect, lol. I'll never forget how the way too many, contrarian classmates of mine, were reacting after we had a large gathering with someone from the gov. showing us a powerpoint about the dangers of smoking...
This is the chance for furries to become cool, because everything that's forbidden is cool xD
Looking forward to Uncle Kage to have a jab at this~
I also know that some laws' acronyms are well thought out. Think about CAN-SPAM X3
That was unrelated. And while I myself don't fursuit in public, I can see this being a big middle finger to teenage furries who just spent their part-time savings on a fursuit

Think furry conventions will prevail for the most part. Especially in other states. But yeah, if this is passed, it'll pointlessly suck for many q_q Sure it's all to protect the children, lol.

Can we show a little sympathy for the politicians in office? Some have literally seen the best & worst of our kind in a short matter of decades; a time where genders were simply "boy or girl" and there wasn't the internet, a whole 2nd dimension :P

Hehe, change can indeed be tough... The whole gender debate really shows how those people just fear change and feel threatened by others believing different from themselves. I mean what in the fricking world do you loose by the fact that someone else does not identify as male or female? xD In competitive sports it can be a problem leading to unfairness under certain circumstances if there were no serious controls in place (which they mostly are) I admit, but the number of such cases certainly does not justify the triple digit million dollar anti-campaigns that have happened... (and blanket bans are the worst possible solution anyways). Not to mention kicking transexuals out of the military is just pure hate ideology without any benefit :/

Yooo, when I was in school, we could get sent home if our hair touched our ears. They probably would have locked me in a dungeon or smth if I came in with a tail. XD

When are we as a species going to learn to mind our own damn business about other people's harmless hobbies. Like fr, if kids aren't being disruptive in class (and I mean actually disruptive, not the 'your colored hair is disruptive' kind) then stfu and leave them be!

As someone who sees the furry fandom as far more than just a kind of fetish, this is suuuuper offensive to me. Can we just build the wall around Texas, cede them out of the union, and let Mexico have them? They're already The Lonestar State and trying to be independent.

I am pretty sure this could be seen as a violation of the first amendment. if burning a flag counts as speech. so can various sounds. Also there is likely a loophole that allows animal costumes as long as it was recognized as being historical.
