Thoughts on animating~

I’ve been thinking on opening animations when I finish this queue but I’m not certain as how much I should charge for a simple animation of fucking in a simple position , or maybe a fucking and cumming of 2 simple characters..

I must ask you first if any of you have experience commissioning animations, focusing on prices and waiting time , cuz I don’t really know how to charge in those situations or even how much time I would spend doing it

I have experience animating characters cuz I had some classes in college about that but I haven’t experienced the whole selling animations stuff

Any ideas or recommendations ?

I've commissioned a couple of animations before from different artists. It depends per person on how they feel about their animations when pricing, how many frames they add (Depends what type of frames they do, 2s or 3s) and usually when a character or pose is complex tends to add a bit more to the price. Overall sketch animations I've encountered tend to range between $150 to upwards of $600 (More experienced artists/animators means higher price rates). Color tends to raise up the price quite a bit (for good reason too), usally around a $100-$300 on average from what I've seen. I'd say do a test animation for yourself to see how you feel about pricing (How difficult it was, how much time it took and see where your strengths and weaknesses are).

When it comes to waiting time, there tends to not be a deadline (when commissioning for) for animation is a timely and unpredictable process. When there is a deadline, it has to be reasonable but it also will raise the prices again.

Maybe you could start with doing an animated ych?
That way you can get an idea of how much people are willing to pay/how much interest there is
Would also give you an idea of how long animating will take while making the base for it, itll take longer once its someones actual character, but will help you get a better estimate of the whole process at least
