Once you know who your real friends are...

...things start to look a whole lot brighter. You'll have many friends in your life who're nothing more than fake friends: People who don't respect you, who think you're a burden, and just wish you would go away. They'll pick on you and hate on you for the most superficial of reasons, and will see even having a conversation with you as a hassle. Those fake friends will do nothing but treat you like garbage, and will do so with no remorse, and will ultimately leave you, defeated and feeling like you don't matter.

And it's hard to recover from that kind of treatment, and try to see what other people you can meet. It'll get you thinking that everybody's against you, and that everybody's actually an enemy. But that's incorrect.

There are, indeed, people out there you'll meet who are your friends. They're people who're going to be there for you, no matter what. They're people who'll actually listen to you. People who believe in you. People who may find you strange, but have what it takes to tolerate it.

People that love you, for they believe, despite your mistakes and shortcomings, you're worthy of love.

I've had the misfortune of making a lot of fake friends, and it left me a shell for a very long time. But I eventually did find the people that I can genuinely call my real friends. And it's because of those real friends why I decided to return. Why I decided to try again.
