I'm angry. A small rant.

I do apologise for having to bother everyone with this - however... well, I needed somewhere to vent.

I always knew about this anyway, and it's been in the back of my mind since it was announced, but.. well, now its becoming a lot more serious. By July, the UK - where I reside, will have effectively banned porn.

Fucking yay.

By effectively, I don't mean it's a law that straight up throws you in prison for viewing it - but more that shitty "protect the children!" bullshit of requiring every adult site to age verify UK users via ID or monetary methods.

In effect, this will "ban" a lot of sites, who may simply block UK users. Oh, and fun fact, common VPN IP's are likely to be blocked too.

Theres going to be literally no protection for our data. It's a complete free for all with no direction or security or anything. Just a "age verify everyone or we'll shut you down."

I sure as hell am not handing over my information so the government can track my every yiff view. Hell, cub is technically in a very very grey area here, that I really do not want to chance.

Its fucking disgusting. Why do we have to be stuck with these vile, awful, puritanical morons in control of the world? I want off this stupid rock, and onto an anthro paradise. And I'm gonna do my best to take every other furry with me too.

Again, sorry for this. I'm filled with anger so I'm mainly just venting that. But this fucking sucks and we shouldn't have to deal with this.

more and more states here are doing the same shit here in the US and it's infuriating. im so fucking tired of this shit.

Still, with what's about to come from the American government in the next 4 years... or more, perhaps, I really don't think you'll be safe for long. The incoming administration has already declared multiple times they'll be banning porn entirely too. So that's great.

Honestly don’t know how laws work when it comes to the UK, but every time I hear or see something to do with a porn ban on the internet I’m like “good luck” due to how big the WiFi is and how something like that would cost a government too much money to implement. Either way I get that and help the best for you; and who knows, if anything does get passed it will be maybe a tuned down version of what they originally planned that does involve you giving them your data

Well, that was actually what's been pushing this back a lot. It's been planned for years to have a porn ban of some sort, but it always got put on the back-burner due to it's nigh-impossibility. However now, they've rammed it through with 0 guidance, 0 plan, 0 security or protection. So woohoo. I love puritanical control!

This is decrepit!! Isn't this an infringement on certain rights?! Jeez, maybe not in the UK... is there any way to either petition against or work around this level of pure boycotting? Or is it a pinch upon ALL browsing? Man, I guess as long as you abide by their fancy-pants rules, hopefully nothing too severe occurs? That really doesn't seem fair though, especially if we're only relating to fictional hand-drawn anthropomorphic characters engaged in a plethora of over-exaggerated off-the-cuff sexual situations... this seems no different than what lots of others do with their forms of smut! Could you stand a chance of getting perma-banned over Connie porn and the like? I'd hate to see both written stories and artwork equally affected! I have some kick-ass story/art combos in mind that I'd like to share but it would ruin me to learn that I'm incapable of doing so, no thanks to some lame-ass porn ban enforcement taking place in your immediate area! :(

If that does happen, would you still be able to work around a potential ban somehow?

Gosh, I don't want to stir the pot... but I'm concerned for you and others like us on a similar level who may also become directly affected by these severe bans!

My friend, one more thing - please do not feel like you need to apologize for expressing your opinions and venting your frustrations! This is one of the better methods of approach to doing so above all else, and as another before me said, this is indeed your account, so you ought to feel an urge to voice your feelings however you see fit! I'm just as frustrated as you are about this whole puritanical takeover, it just feels freaking WRONG on a number of levels, unfair towards those of us who maintain a steady suitable living by thriving off this sort of stuff that we do. I love writing about furry hotness, it would break my heart to know my own country is forcing me away from sharing any of it due to prolific laws working actively against what they deem to be unsuitable for widespread viewing. XP

I hope they can resolve the matter at hand and reach a suitable conclusion that doesn't involve far too many online bans taking effect across the greater UK region! Please keep us posted with any updates, no matter if they're good or bad. I'll continue to root for you overseas here in the west coast of good ol' 'Murica! >;3
