#### **Scene 1: A Call for Help** Rocky had barely left the Gadgetorium when the sound of rapid footsteps and a shrill voice reached his ears. “Wait! Hey, you, panda guy!” He turned to see Mink darting toward him, clutching a small, cylindrical device that pulsed with a faint, green glow. Her oversized ears flopped slightly as she ran, and her jumpsuit had picked up a fresh streak of soot. “What now?” Rocky asked, raising an eyebrow as she skidded to a halt in front of him. “I need your help,” Mink blurted, her eyes wide with urgency. “Something... well, let’s just say something didn’t go quite as planned back at the workshop.” Rocky sighed, folding his arms. “Didn’t go as planned how?” Mink winced, holding up the glowing device. “I was testing an experimental power core for one of my projects—a self-repairing automaton—but the core became... unstable. It’s, uh, kind of on a countdown to overload.” Rocky blinked. “Overload? As in... explode?” Mink nodded vigorously. “Yup! Big kaboom. Like, really big. And, uh... it might take out half the block if I don’t get it back to my stabilizer in time.” “Why not handle it yourself?” Rocky asked, his tone calm but skeptical. “I can’t carry it and manage the stabilizer at the same time! Please, I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t serious,” Mink said, her voice softening. “Just keep it steady while I do the magic-tech stuff. You’ve got the strength for it.” Rocky hesitated. This wasn’t exactly what he had planned for his day, but something about Mink’s earnest expression swayed him. “Fine,” he said, taking the device from her. Its weight surprised him—it was heavier than it looked, and the pulsing glow seemed to hum faintly in his hands. “Lead the way.” |
