2025

2025 Has just begun. But the streets are silent. I dont hear people, or fireworks. Very few windows has garlands. There is almost no snow. Almost no "new year" mood. Maybe because everyone are tired physically, or emotionally. Or maybe people just finally noticed that every year thing here become worse and worse, and lost all their hopes for 2025. Like me. Happy New Year

i don't blame you dude, i know there is very little left in Russia to celebrate these days

but look at Ceaușescu and Assad - both their regimes collapsed practically overnight

and Vladimir Kara-Murza said that things in Russia tend to change quickly and without warning

so who knows what the year 2025 will have in store for Russia

Well, here there's still a lot of partying on the streets. I guess availability of fireworks for home use and cheap booze can lighten up peoples moods and improve their outlook. At least until the inevitable morning hangover ;)

It was all wonderful here, tons of people and holiday spirit. Everybody helping each other and having a great time. More LED's in windows that I've seen in a long long time and a whole four hours of constant fireworks. I get that feeling. It’s been a rough decade honestly. I can feel the moods different this time around also. With the constant drive down it’s hard to feel positive. The rise of right wing extremism, the increasing income inequality, the consolidation of social media and news into the hands of extremely powerful and greedy people, the rising tensions of war. It’s hard to feel hope. But still. Losing hope and this growing apathy is what evil people use to win. The triumph of evil is possible only when good men(people) do nothing.

Having hope is hard. But hope is probably the most intense flame to bring change. Let’s hope this year is better. That change, no mater how small, happens.
