Why are people trying to advertise random crap on IB?

seriously, some of the stuff I've seen is stupid, why are companies even advertising and creating submissions of their products on what is mainly a porn site?

Wow, I don't think I've seen any advertisements on IB as of yet. I'm surprised to hear that as most companies actively try to avoid being associated with this sorta stuff. I guess if they're really desperate to try to reach as many peeps as possible maybe? I'm not sure lol But I'm surprised to hear that when I guess I probably shouldn't be, companies really do try to pursue as many avenues as possible

First time I heard of this. Can't be more annoying than messages from scammers trying to get you to "auction art for money". And believe me, I know.

Well if it's bad then it's not a good thing.

From my experience, bots don't know the difference between a porn site and Facebook/X.  Even the advancement of AI slop hasn't changed that.

If accounts are free to make, then a bot can automate it and get their ad out anywhere.
Report and move on.

I actually got startled by this a couple weeks ago. Someone posted about a "bot account attack". If you go to the account search and look at newly created, there'll be dozens and dozens of accounts that are all advertising websites or online casinos and other weird stuff, all posting copy pasta'ed journals. It looks super alarming.

Apparently it's pretty much normal, and the mods are aware of it, and have been for a long time. They just deal with it as they can. It's not even bots, just super low paid workers who have to spam post, and they don't even realize or care that those journals don't even get seen by anyone, and have no chance of making it into anywhere people will see. It just looks like an organized attack, but it's pretty much a normal day for the staff.

porn can also be art, but you have to maintain a certain level, that's what separates the connoisseurs from the sewers.

We live in a hyper-capitalist world. So the only question is: Why isn't there more advertisement?

I've seen them too. I think it's just spam bots.
