Well... It's risky, but you still can use it if you find a way to sure your work without publishing it there. I'll tell you my example. I use Patreon, but all my patrons can only have access to my works via discord. I created a server there so I can share my stuff with my patrons. So you can create something private where you can post your works for your patrons. Even your google drive, cloud, a private site... It's up to you. The point is... you can have patrons, but you must find a way to share your work with them without publishing it on Patreon.
