What's this add friend shenanigans

So, I've been on sites that have watchers before...but what is this friends shenanigans? What can your friends do that your watchers can't?

Wiki tells me they can see stuff reserved only for friends to see... What do artists typically share only with their 'friends'?

mostly gore or stuff people don't usually like such as cub rape. Although there are some friends only journals that are for more personal issues or warnings about people from various sites that are scammers, hackers, douchebags, ect.

Friends only people also use for like WIP images and only things that either people that donate to them get to see or before they come out to the public they allow their friends to see it first. It is a nice feature all in all.

Mostly the things some people are willing to share only with close friends. I do have people who have shared some fetishes with me privately that they would probably not post here for everyone to view.

meh.. discard the above...
people use it the way they want to...
some don't use it at all..
some se it to share works in progress to closest friends
some write personal journals for friends only...
some just add everyone as friends...
you use it, the way you like to use it.. or opt not to..
totally upto you ^^

Just some private stuff, messages you dont want the world to see, secret sketches for those closest, secret contests etc.

Pictures and journals that are for important people only.

Also it seems common practice to friend people you like talking too as a show of status, like relationship on Facebook.
