Unusual question, but...

For those who like watersports but not scat, what's the reason behind it? What makes piss play to you different than scat play, as a sexual concept or kink? Technically, both are excretions, and it's been proven that neither is very sanitary to play with, let alone consume, so... why is the first more acceptable to you than the second?

Probably (idk cause i honestly dont have this issue lol) is the smell being less bearable and giving this fake sense of scat being somehow dirtier or grosser

I only go for one kind of piss play/fetish

A woman urinating on my left wrist as if she's peeing on a pregnancy test

Also
if possible I'd rather not smell any urine scent

Because anyone can tell that shit stinks and everything about it is disgusting.

Not that I've ever tried it, but for watersports I'm assuming it's more about the warm feeling of the pee pouring on your body and the kinkiness of the act. I know some are into getting it in their mouths or even drinking it (which is also gross), but most aren't into that and don't take it that far. Plus it's a liquid, so it's easier to clean up and really doesn't smell bad initially, especially compared to scat.

As I stated, the "myth" that urine is sterile is just that, a myth, and has been proven so since at least 2014. Also, doesn't really explain why people who like doing rimming hate scat, as well.

As someone on the outside who frequently ends up running across these kinks, from what I've seen around it's mainly because feces are significantly messier and with less positive or erotic connotations.

Urine generally isn't considered to be as filthy or unsanitary as feces and it also has aspects of it that can make it appealing such as playing into musk play, scent marking, domination and just generally coming from the more appealing genitals and providing an erotic image.

Feces on the other hand is rarely seen in ways that can easily be sexualized without having the kink for it already. It's frequently seen purely as waste product or at best a more unsavory way of marking territory. The act of defecation isn't something that can be easily sexualized outside of the kink because of that and feces are seen as something gross and "meant to be left alone." rather than anything you should be toying with. That on top of it being significantly more messy and the smell of feces being unappealing means it's an uphill climb for anyone to get into unless you already have investment.

tl;dr-Watersports have more positives going for it that can outweigh the negatives while Scat has more negatives that can outweigh the positives.

It's been proven as recently as 2014 that pee isn't sterile, and some of the bacteria it grows are linked to bladder incontinence, so I don't get why the prevalence of the whole "Pee is sterile, we can still do it, while scat is not" myth is still ongoing.

Also, how does this explain rimming fetishes, or ass-to-mouth/pussy fetishes? It's still unsanitary, as you're still contacting the area that feces comes from with your mouth/pussy, so...

But you're not dealing with the feces directly and it's typically done with the understanding that the person has previously cleaned their ass to do that.

It's less about the actuality of the acts and more about the way they appear and the connotations of them. Dealing directly with feces is undeniably more unsanitary and messy and unhygenic than urine if only from a visual standpoint.

That's just false perspective based on an incorrect myth that's been busted since 2014. People need to realize that urine is just as unsanitary and unsafe as feces.

I'm just saying. Even if it weren't factually true, urine is still seen as safer and cleaner. Not just from a hard facts sanitary perspective but just in general.

Like, piss is liquid and liquid can be washed off easily. Feces is solid and sticky so it takes more cleaning.

I know of the myth that "urine is sterile", but that's just it: it's a MYTH. A study done in 2014 showed that it carries harmful bacteria just like feces, some of which are responsible for bladder incontinence. As such, I don't buy it.
