What Would You Do, if You Knew You Couldn't Fail?

This is a question that motivational speakers used to ask to help people identify their dream job or figure out what their passions were.  I’ve never liked that question.  I used to think that it gave me ‘analysis paralysis’ because there were simply too many options that nothing immediately sprang to mind.
Recently, though, I realized that the reason it never worked for me is that I understand that failure is always an option.  I don’t believe failure is always a certainty.  However, I know there are always forces and circumstances beyond our control.
I have lost jobs because the company I was working for was poorly managed.  I fulfilled my duties and responsibilities in the company but others did not and the business failed. Failures and mistakes my parents made when I was growing up have had long term impacts on my life.
I have tried a few things lately that I have been unsuccessful with and there are other things I want to try.  I found myself hesitating and making excuses.
I am going to try a couple of them.  I don’t know how successful I will be, but I may as well try.
There’s a quote I often share with other people to help them when they are uncertain about trying something new, or trying to go for something they really want.  I think it’s time I say this quote to myself.
“You miss 100% of the shots you never take.”
