I can't catch a break can I? Alright, so I'll explain what is going on. Recently around late September I signed up for food assistance. After much of a hassle, I finally got approved and for all intent and purposes my assistance is active.
So, with that said, I got letters promising that I'll be getting food assistance for October and November as a start. My assistance didn't activate UNTIL November, so I am under the impression that I will be getting twice the assistance for one month as was promised by the letters.
Even on the website, the assistance I got on November 7th was stated to be from October. The amount of money for this assistance is $187 for October and going forward from November onward it would be $233.
As I read the letter, it stated i would get this assistance on the 10th of every month.
Important to Note: The assistance ALWAYS resets every month, so the $187 would not stack for the $233. So in short, I had to spend that amount within the time of month before my assistance refills.
With that understood, I bought groceries with the $187. It was $186 leaving me with ONLY $1. I decided to buy a few things and than I would supplement what is missing with the second amount. No Big Deal.
The 10th of November comes . . . nothing. I get confused but decide to wait as I already have groceries. I actually use to get food assistance a few years back and this was based on the same case I had before. So I thought "Well, maybe they will refill on the 18th as they had done before".
So I make do with what I have surviving whilst working through comms so I can make more money. No big deal. Today is the 18th . . . nothing.
I am thoroughly confused what is going on now. It seems i got that initial $187 and if i knew this would happen, I would have saved a bit of it just in case.
So I make calls only to not only be hit with a message telling my monthly benefit is $187 (which is either an error or they reduced it), my assistance is active as well and I don't need to do anything further.
I try to contact customer service only to be told the call volume is extremely high, told goodbye and hunged up on without any option for a call back.
So I'm not sitting here with little food (Just sandwich bread and meat, bread which has just expired) wondering what the actual fuck is going on. I go to the website and it still says that I only got my benefit in October . . . even though I got it in November, but okays.
I have working theories that include the idea that maybe my October benefit got rolled into November somehow without them messaging and telling me (I have to check the website sense my mail gets sent too late now but the website is always up to date and has the mail in pdf form that will be sent to me.)
To state things are retarded is a understatement.
In any case, I guess i have no choice but to ask for some grocery help until (Maybe) the money kicks in before hand or hope the money kicks in next month, if it does. I hate not having things be certain even when those things are mailed to me with exact dates and certainty only for arbitrary changes to happen without any message or news of it.

I have and am doing everything in my power to mitigate these sorts of journals because I know they get tiring for some of you to see. I am sorry and apologize that I need to ask again for your help.
