This is a truth I've come to realize. Oh sure, people say they want it. They'll vote for someone who will scream they will give it back to them. But what they really want is to lose it. Democracy is failing. Authoritarianism is on the rise because people want to be irresponsible--to be babied. Maybe that's what I should support.
If people want to lose their freedom over false fears, then I'll support it. I'll vote for those who will limit our freedoms because that's what the people want. Why not? There's no point otherwise. One side is incompetent and the other side is malicious. So who to choose? Let's burn the world down because that is our legacy. There is no good in this world. The people don't want it. They just want to feel superior to someone else, to put a good person down.
So to hell with it. If I'm going down, I'm taking you all with me.
