IT'S GOING DOWN TODAY! It is the first day of the streaming marathon and we could not be more excited! We have a LOT on tap over the next 13 days and we hope that you drop by if you are a fan of classic horror games. There has been a lot of debate, controversy and tough talk...everyone has their nostalgia faves; however the resulting list is both comprehensive and diverse. While consolidation has descended over the horror genre over the past couple generations, it used to be an incredibly wide open arena with a lot of experimental elements and systems that have largely gone by the wayside since. Rather than seeking to make this a repackaging of the greatest hits, we wanted to try to pull out some of the hidden gems that many of us may have missed back in the day. Many of these I have never played, or have not enjoyed since their heyday...if you are tuning in to see me die over and over then you will not be disappointed. :-D
Chat Bridge duties will be shared between my wife and Jeff. Those of you who have watched before will be familiar with both of them. My wife doesn't freelance like me so she cannot just drop work for two weeks to game. I do want to introduce her to many of these titles so she will be Bridging as much as she is able. At the moment I do not expect to be doing any solo streams. Some of these games, I'm looking at you Clocktower 3, aren't ones that the player can afford to take lightly. The entire paradigm can shift in an instant.
Starting on Halloween evening we will be doing a full playthrough of the new Silent Hill 2 Remake!!!!! OMFG I am so excited. I have studied this game at great length and I understand the characters better than most. I'm curious to see how much the developers took from the original game. Interestingly there are many mistranslated pieces in the English version that change the meanings and motivations of some characters. I am also curious to see how much they follow the Japanese version as opposed to the English.
A few quick notes about the list: 1. We have avoided adding multiple games of the same franchise UNLESS an additional title offered something different AND is largely self-contained. We want viewers to be able to drop in without feeling like they need to have knowledge of prior titles.
2. To keep it a surprise, for me included, there is not a schedule, but we are targeting two to three titles each day. Some are longer and will take much more time, but we will have them all done in time! You can sign up for our mailing list to be notified when the intermission begins. (30 minutes between titles) and what game we will be playing next.
3. Except for Night Trap, all games will be played on original hardware which will be fitted with a purpose built scaler from PixelFX. Night Trap will be played with the LRG release as it contains extra content. Some games have experienced levels of censoring in their official releases and where possible those titles will be patched for the purposes of de-censorship.

Q. What is the schedule? A. Streams will begin each day at NOON EST and will go until at least midnight, or a bit later if we are close to polishing off a title.
Q. What is a Chat Bridge? A. A Chat Bridge is a secondary streamer who helps bring together the streamer and the chat. We do not want viewers to feel left out, or like they cannot engage with me directly. The Bridge will respond to messages, read comments aloud and generally do all the stuff I may not be able to do while I’m focusing on the games. After all, the stream is for the viewers, not for us.
Q. When will you be starting the Silent Hill 2 Remake stream? A. We plan to begin this stream around 6 PM EST on Halloween! Depending on how close we are to finishing the prior title, we may push this time back slightly. It will begin no later than 8 PM. There will be a one hour intermission to allow us to get ready as we will be doing this last game in one solid run. It will go until we see the end credits.
Q. How are the games being chosen? A. We will be using https://pickerwheel.com/ before each intermission to determine what game will be played next. It will be spun on stream, and all spins are final.
Q. What difficulty will be used? A. For games with which I am familiar we will be using the hardest difficulty available. Some SH games allow you to pick both combat and puzzle difficulty; at these points we will be using the most challenging on both sides. For games with which I am not familiar we will be using a standard difficulty.
