Foods to cut down on or avoid entirely: whole grains, bread, wheat, pasta, rice, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, red bell peppers, peppers, corn, squash, peanuts, beans, sunflower seeds, cashews, oats, cereals, Granola, sugar, anti-biotics in excess, etc.
These foods have lectins, sharp proteins that tear up the gut, resulting in the leaking of wastes, poisoning the body.
Foods to make a part of your regular diet: Chicory roots, Asparagus, leeks, Jerusalem artichokes, onions, walnuts, pistachios, avocado, mango (unripe), Kiwi (wash them, cut ends off, leave fuzziness), white mushrooms (cooked not raw), brown mushrooms, shiitake mushroom, light tuna in a can (very low or no mercury), WILD shrimp, eggs (pastured and soy free, or omega-3 (feed black seeds))
These foods contain prebiotic fibers that feed the probiotics (good bacteria in the gut), so they can produce a compound called "butyrate" that benefits the body in many ways, including repairing and strengthening the gut.
I've yet to try it myself, but I will. Hopefully it works.
