But I feel as if with how the internet is now I need to make a vent piece about this. Over the past few years I've grown disillusioned with the new (new to me, at least) culture surrounding art as a whole and it's one of the reasons I stopped drawing entirely.
I see it as collectively becoming more and more clandestine and secretive, a culture that would genuinely enjoy the shutdown of places like Internet Archive because it means "copyright wins".
Maybe there's no point in any art existing if it's all meant to be transient and done in silence.
Attitudes like this are what made me genuinely pro-piracy earlier in life... they're why I hope for an extended global cyberattack which wipes out all data
I don't want to call myself an "artist" anymore, because real "artists" are turning more and more into emotionless corporate goons that treat their own content like CIA documents
