Absolutely no damage was done to our home, but we were without power for almost a week as power lines and trees were down around us. Yeah, it was a scary time for us, as we weren't sure a tree was going to come hurdling towards our home, but nothing happened. However, we're out about $100 in groceries because of the extended outage, so that kind of sucks. Our Internet however, is still down. At this time, I am using my phone as a hotspot to send this journal out and let you all know we're safe, and I am even back to working with less distractions (and less art streams :( ). My bulk uploading of content is on hold, though, because the upload speed of a spotty, rural 5G connection is ... not good. Spot all new work as it comes at my BlueSky; yes, even through the spotty rural 5G connection: https://bsky.app/profile/projectshadowcat.bsky.social I am also announcing that Sketch ($15) and Rough Color ($40) commissions are OPEN! Limit two characters or one 'Mech/Vehicle at this time. Please Note me if you're interested, though Discord is better for me if you have that.
It's the second major storm I've went through and I had similar results. No damage to home, No power for a week, Internet out even longer; Tornado cluster in April of 2011 in Alabama.

I went through several blizzards up in Western NY that did much the same, including one really bad ice storm the year before I moved that brought trees and powerlines down all over the area. Now in Texas, had... three ice storms knock out power and cause issues. In TEXAS! I can't escape them. And the occasional tornado passes through.

No you don't. Icy roads with zero ice removal infrastructure, plus low visibility if it is snowing and while snow may LOOK pretty in pictures it melts and then you have potential flooding, plus all that frozen water weighing down trees not made to withstand that kind of weight AND also potentially pulling down powerlines with them or doing not insignificant damage to buildings and cars, plus potentially no power while below zero temperatures outside in houses designed to remain cooler from the typically higher heat... And that's not even getting into all the damage it can do to pipes, since they're not insulated to withstand it and can BURST...
No, you don't want an ice storm in the south.

.... *sigh* no, I probably don't. I'm not from the area and I miss some of the more arctic conditions in a few of the States I've previously lived in. (CO, NY, etc.) I guess I'll settle for a light snowstorm, then.
