Hi! I usually don't do this, but I've had some stuff on mind for a while now and thought I'd let you know what's happening.
First off. There will be no continuation of Alone Together/Together Forever. That's the final verdict, and it will not change. Initially, my tiredness of pokemon was due to just a lack of appreciation and care, but now it's a bit muddier and more disdainful. I had very low intention in the first place, but now it's set in stone. I'll adjust the description accordingly. Additionally, this also means that, unless it's com'd, you will not see another poke post from me ever again. I know only like 20 people actually read these, so sorry to disappoint like 5 people :)
Second. Slowing down on art again. Taking commissions, doing comics, and being easily distracted leaves me in a place I don't mind being, but I can't help but feel a bit weird about just plopping down 2 refs and that's it for two months (still better than 2023 lul). I ironically hit idea overload (having freedom from pokemon basically changed my outlook for the better) and drew so many wips, very few get finished because I'm just jotting down so many ideas and the idea of lining and coloring can be a rough climb. Especially since I'm more often than not, quite lethargic and extremely easy to distract, sometimes for days on end.
Third. Future content. As I mentioned a few times, I intend to do some OC related things, but am having some difficulty figuring it out. The biggest issue is; IB cannot support a very large portion of it, as it features young hoominz/hoomin-like beings in various, fun situations. I've considered Discord, Telegram, and Baraag, but each has a unique issue that makes doing such a massive thing sort of inefficient or unwieldy. Discord just kinda sucks and it runs the risk of getting bamf'd, Baraag doesn't seem too great for long comics and tags (there are some bad tags that need to be figured out too), and Telegram requires a phone#, which I can assume is a large issue.
Note: said future content can get pretty gnarly and would require a lot of content warnings, so just keep that in mind :)
And lastly, general thoughts. Internet safety and freedom seems to be on a roller-coaster of absolute dogshit, and every other day it seems things are getting worse. There's an ocean of AI art taking over, and a new, larger generation is settling into it. Political posts to make people angry are cool too, definitely love seeing that. Things are just crazy both in and out of the circle, and it feels like we're a target on top of all of it.
I'm not a part of any 'true' community, really. Sure I'm around in a few servers, and I'm not opposed to talking if someone tries to chat me up, but I don't go out of my way to advertise or sell myself, or do one of those epic posts made solely to attract attention in negative ways. I don't even do those meme things like the jacko pose or whatever. I won't go into AI or politics in my art, ever. My hot takes are pretty much 'rabbits shouldn't have pawpads (it's sorta important that they don't irl) and you shouldn't just slap them on just because it's "cute"' or 'rabbits shouldn't be addicted to carrots, Bugs Bunny caused that, it's not real, it can give them the beetus.'
Disagree with me, I dare you.
Anyway, I'm no big-name artist, and don't really want to be, but this stuff is pretty important to me on a creative level, and I'm glad there are a lot of you that seem to enjoy my stuff. So, for as long as it lasts, I'll keep trying to pump as much as I can out, not because of any specific reason. I don't really care about popularity or views. It's been a wacky 13 years. I hope another 13 is in the books....cuz I'll need that much time to finish this dang comic.
