Any advice?

For some time I've been trying to get my goat more popular on the same level as Asriel and them but progress has been slow. I thought if I just commission people things will naturally will happen but that isn't the case.

Hardly anyone recognize Bulgogi and I get very little interactions. I get like one or two notifications they're from bot accounts or blank slate account. The random group chat I do happen visit doesn't even share a single image. Even when people do DM me about my goat it's always about them wanting to RP fucking my goat. Which is fine and all but it doesn't go anything past that and person just dissappears shortly after.

I'm just trying to get my 🐐 out there but it been extremely slow. Is there something I'm missing?

Boy bias aside, more lewd pics of him from well known artists would do it.

I was thinking of that as well but after receiving my art from Doneru I thought my account would get a decent boost but hardly anything changed. I don't have it in me to spend hundreds on a popular artist and see little growth.

I guess Lanxide, you forgot that things are built little by little.

ALSO, becoming as popular as Asriel might be too high of a shot. He's the most important character from an insanely popular rpg, so he's got appeal in and out of the furry fandom. ALSO ALSO you have to keep in mind that the type of content on Inkbunny is very niche, and the furry community is already niche as it is. Aging Bulgogi up for NSFW work might help, if the goal is to make him more popular. Getting NSFW art of his younger self will cut into that, as there are people who will actively avoid seeing it.

THAT SAID I think you should focus more on getting art of your boyo that makes you happy, rather than getting art that'll make him more noticeable.

I agree I will never be on the same level as Asriel no matter how hard I try. The only way I can see myself being as popular if I make a game myself that's on the same level or better than Undertale.
Yeah cub art isn't as appealing to the masses as it used to be years ago so I'm at a disadvantage from the start. I should focus on what makes me happy and not appealing to everyone else.

Getting interaction with communities and other people is pretty important to building people's connection to a character. People didn't really care too much about KK seemingly until I started doing trades and building my friend's connections to him. Then people started commissioning pieces with KK in them doing stuff with their characters.

If your main method of getting content of bulgogi put out there is commissions then maybe start commissioning him with others' characters more! People would naturally start caring about him more I think.

You're absolutely right with building connection my only problem with that is that all my followers and following are majority Japanese and they have a completely different culture to Americans. I can't rely on translator since they can be unreliable. I'm barely in any furry communities since they mostly involves RPing and I'm not very good at those.
I haven't given art trades any thought or collabs any thought since I have literal no art experience and collab drawings can be really expensive.

I think one of the biggest things you could do would be to build a world around Bulgogi.

Sure, Asriel is a cute character design on his own, but 3/4 of his popularity comes from who he is in context of his world and his character as a person. He has friends, family, a story, and a personality that people can build into their work.

Since you're not an artist yourself, it'd really help to pick a medium you can produce stuff around him personally, decide what you want to be canon around his life, and start building on that.

I haven't really given much thought to Bulgogi lore and world since I feel like it's the least thing that people would be interested in, so I usually give artists free range when drawing him.

Sure, Asriel is beloved by many and popular because he's from a game that anyone can own, play, and created by a team of many dedicated workers. Where as with me I doubt anyone would be interested in reading multiple stories with grammatical errors, about a goat boy doing things.

Well, lore does imply rather a lot of volumes of work... But perhaps consider some context? Other characters for him to interact with? Family, friends and whatnot.

At very least if you're getting art via commissions and gifts it'll give you some options other than solo poses :)

Heck, some folks get some good leverage out of "ask my character..." thingers, but then, they tend to post answers with illustrations, which might not work for those of us not artistically inclined.

But yeah, perhaps think about expanding his world a little, if you've got the funds for more arts, see if you can get him some pics with other characters? At very least that'd have fans of those characters wondering "Just who is this handsome kid?"

And if you're up for a tiny creative exercise? Who would you like him to meet? What'd they do? ... And then who would he like to meet? ;)

But yeah, just a thought.

If I make a game I could include him as a character maybe if it would be okay :3

Oh that would be wonderful if you included him in your game!
Wonder what type of game you have in mind.
