Oddly, I get a lot of PMsa asking about commissions. As I say in my posts, I am only a writer. These are commissions I acquire. I have the privilege of working with some absolutely amazing artists, and they bring my nonsense ideas to life. I do post the artists’ info in places where I am able, I highly recommend reaching out to them directly.
For those of you who have asked me about collabing on a comic, I am happy to chat you up about your idea; however there are a few things to keep in mind.
All ideas are ultimately written into Trello cards. This means that there is a lot of info available to the artist when they are working. By doing this there is far less ambiguity and the result is more close to what is desired.
Ideas that are not fleshed out go onto a google document until they are ready to be written up for an artist’s queue. The cards are often involved so there are a LOT of ideas on the doc that may never make it to the board.
Different artists have different ways of getting ideas from the board. Sometimes they choose and sometimes I do. In the latter case the result will largely be based on the current state of my muse. This may mean that ideas can take a while to move from stage to stage and ultimately completion.
I say these things because I often receive rather garbled or short descriptions which makes it harder to prepare the ideas for production. The less detail that is included, the less likely it will be that the idea will make it past the google doc. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but I really do not have the time to drag ideas out of folks….especially when I have so many of my own.
