summerset, n. The sad, melancholy last day of summer vacation before school starts.  


Remember those days?  For those of us in the US, that's typically Labor Day (the first Monday of September), at least if you're of school age.

no, i've never started school in summer; here in italy september was the wine harvest month,
there was no way (then) to go to school in a period od hard work in the fields:
applying the rule in all of my counrty, school was an unknown concept until 1 october;*
following the saint name, i was called a «remigino», traditional term still used.



* not more, sometime in september nowaday...

Hunh, yeah, I figure it would mostly apply to Americans, mostly because I have no idea how other countries handle the post-summer return to school.

The joke is supposed to be extended, though, but I need to finally get around to it, unsurprisingly.
