I finally have a Furaffinity account I'm posting to regularly again (https://www.furaffinity.net/user/foxyoreos), but it's pawbably not the best place to follow me. I'll be honest, I don't think Furaffinity is a very good website. I have concerns about its content moderation and tagging systems; I think there are a lot of better places that the furry community could go.
So as part of encouraging fluffers to do that, I'm introducing some discounts on my commissions IF they are requested and coordinated off of Furaffinity. I'm still making some decisions so this is subject to change, but right now I'm offering:
- $5 off of 90 minute sketch commissions ($45 instead of $50).
- $5 off of the hourly price of polished commissions ($45 an hour instead of $50 an hour).
The prices themselves aren't changing, but I'll apply these discounts to any invoices I send if the request comes on a different furry or social media site than FA.
★★★
There's no purfect furry gallery site, Inkbunny included, but most furry sites are better than FA. Despite that, FA is the largest and most generally known furry site online. If you're on Inkbunny already you don't need to really hear this. But I want to encourage fluffers not to leave Furaffinity even, but to just follow artists on multiple websites.
There are benefits and downsides to every website that you might choose to follow me on:
- Inkbunny (https://inkbunny.net/foxyoreos) has a lot more of my WIP shots that don't get uploaded to other sites (in case you're curious about how I draw), butt tends to lag behind on some pieces, and because of the NSFW human restriction won't have some of my artwork like the Max the Eevee comics, monster/human vore, or Changed art >w<
- Itaku (https://itaku.ee/profile/foxyoreos) has (imo) the best tagging system of any website, and I tend to be a lot more social on there: commenting on other artist work, resharing images, and occasionally posting about programming. But Itaku is more of a Tumblr style site than a gallery-focused site, and it lacks writing tools so some of the pieces I upload are missing stories.
- Aryion (https://aryion.com/g4/user/foxyoreos) has the most complete, up-to-date collection of my vore art, it tends to be the place that I upload to furst. But I don't have all of my non-vore art on there yet, and tagging/filtering systems are cumbersome, which can make it difficult to filter work that you don't want to see.
- And Mastodon (https://gulp.cafe/@foxyoreos) isn't great as a gallery site but is where I tend to be most social and occasionally vorny on main X3 And because I prioritize writing good alt-text, it's not uncommon for pictures I upload to Mastodon to have extra lewd descriptions hidden in the alt text ;3c
★★★
I like to be active on multiple sites and I like fluffers to have multiple choices on where to follow me depending on where they're active and what kind of experience they want. And I'll try to carry the same philosophy into Furaffinity too <3
So (and again, I know that anypony reading this is already on Inkbunny), I'm not saying not to use Furaffinity at all, just that I want to encourage fluffers to follow artists on multiple websites. FA remains as large as it does because of network effects. I'm hoping that offering small incentives like this will encourage furries to explore a bit more <3
