Gameplan!

Alrighty! So, I'm just gonna do a quick little ramble and tell you guys where my headspace is at artistically and what I plan on doing moving forward. Currently, I really enjoy the little thing I cooked up here. I like it even more that folks like
SoulCentinel
SoulCentinel
are willing to show so much interest in it and even create entities for it (very cool of you, afuckayou Soul). So, it makes me far more excited to try to produce more and more content for it.

Now I gotta be clear, I'm not a writer. Writing is something relatively new to me, and mostly I've role-played, which isn't really grounds to say I'm skilled or versed in the art of writing long-form content. However, I'm learning new things every time I create, fixing small errors and things of that sort. So again, I'll try my best to continue the little nonsense I call "The Village." Beyond that, I think it's best to talk about things artistically now!

When it comes to art, I'm someone who enjoys the process of rendering. It's fun, but it's taxing, and it often has to be "cost-efficient" to do so. As much as I like to paint, I'm most likely just going to continue advancing my comic and sketching skills by doing regular monochrome sketch comics. Then again, if I keep doing this long enough and I can build up enough support where I can fully dedicate my time to it, then I can easily see a future where I create full-colored comic work of this content. (But only if people are interested.) Hell, I might even be able to paint it one day, but that's for the far future! We'll see how things are a year from now!

Anyway, I'd like to thank you all again for the warm welcome onto the website, and I appreciate everyone who's shown any interest in my work so far. You guys really are the life energy of the creation process.

yeah, writing is a very very different process than drawing. The trouble with still pictures is that they can really only communicate a single scene. Can do a lot of fun stuff to imply more, but it's limited. What i would LOVE to be able to do effectively is make comics, but those are so so so much work.

but writing by itself is an entirely different beast. It's possible to communicate so very much more. There's still a challenge to it, but imo it's a lot easier than building a dozen character poses for a short few page comic pages. Like you said, "cost efficient". i tend to work slowly in general, so it's especially difficult since i wanna polish.

i started writing more when i realized that i had some ideas that needed some time and room to develop properly. usually in the form of truly depraved scenarios that my mind tends to play out unprompted x3
the major trouble with posting stories here is that it's a lot more effort for someone to spend 10 minutes reading something rather than kinda being able to get a full sense of a picture in a mere moment. But that's just how things go

i do have one recommendation for growth in writing: just read as much as you can~
more than just furry stuff or other kindsa things like that, but other stuff that's outside your comfort zone. Don't have to go so far as like Pynchon or something, but Joe Abercrombie, James SA Corey, Adrian Tchaikovsky, Tasmyn Muir, are great influences. Though those are all pretty much in sci-fi/fantasy...
take these w a grain of salt tho. i just think people should read more x3

If your drawings are any indication, I think your writing will be fantastic! I really enjoy your characters and the short stories you've done so far! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with ^.^
