I run two groups on Signal. They are called Tiny Woods and Squirk Central.
Tiny Woods is my main chat with the most people. It is SFWish, though discussion of adult topics is allowed. It is also the main hub for the monthly movie and game nights I run for my group. These are streamed via my Floof channel with voice chat being available through the Signal program.
Squirk Central is a secondary group for sharing NSFW artwork, photos, and videos. This exists both so that Tiny Woods can accomodate people who don't want to look at porn, and to help create an organizational divide between discussion and media posting.
What is Signal?
It's a chat program. The GUI is very similar to Telegram, but it's built from the ground-up to be more private. It's open-source and the code is available here if you're into that sort of thing. Everything is encrypted and it's designed in such a way that the people running the service cannot read your messages.
In addition, Signal is run by a non-profit organization rather than a company, so you can also rest assured that the service will not be overrun by annoying paid features (and the censorship that inevitably comes with them) in the coming years similarly to Telegram and Discord. Rules and Culture
These chats are for my friends as well as fans of my art, stories, and YouTube content. Almost all of us are furries. We're huge nerds, and often talk about video games, computers/tech and the like. Occasionally politics as well, for which we have a variety of opinions and practice a respect-first approach.
In general we're easy-going, sex-positive, and really just a bunch of good faith dudes looking to chat hang out in voice once in a while gaming or watching stuff.
IMO this is all pretty common sense stuff but just in case:
1. No minors. You must be at least 18 to join the groups, no exceptions. This is a space for adult furries to enjoy being weird without having to worry about kids seeing it.
2. Don't start drama. If you have any concerns, please discuss them privately with me in DMs. Don't post baseless accusations about other people in the groups. Don't use alts. Don't post any screenshots of the groups or their member lists anywhere else.
3. Don't be a jerk. Don't dox, flame, or harass anyone. Don't post/share illegal abuse material. Don't promote or endorse harmful ideas such as (but not limited to) pedophilia, zoophilia, necrophilia, violence, racism, sexism, transphobia or political extremism.
4. Don't kinkshame. Fiction isn't real. Don't misrepresent harmless art-oriented kinks like cub and feral by calling them "pedophilia" or "zoophilia". To be in my groups, you must be mature enough to understand the difference between real life harm and artwork/stories.
5. Keep pics in Tiny Woods SFW. If you want to post NSFW art or photos, use Squirk Central for this purpose. This allows us to keep the porn sharing aspect of these groups optional.
Minors, pedos, zoos, and current (not former) extremists will be removed upon request, with irrefutable evidence. This includes things like criminal cases and actual links to said conduct, not accusations or easily-forged text logs. Message me such things in private. Do not post them in the group.

Sound like your cup of tea? I'd love you to join! Just shoot me a DM on Signal and I'll add you.
It's very similar to Telegram before it got a billion features. There are DMs, groups, and stickers. You can do voice and video calls with one person or a group. But it's fully open source, everything is encrypted, and it's run by a non-profit organization that can't be bought out. I think it'll be a lot safer for cub folks in the coming years. It should also be safe from paywalled features showing up.

A phone number is required, but it isn't shared with others. It also needs to be installed on a phone or tablet for it to work. There's no web version, but there are versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux that can sync up with your phone once it's installed on there.
This is all because your devices are the ones that store your communications, and they talk to each other to stay in sync. Signal only holds new messages long enough to deliver them to one of your devices, even though they're encrypted. Their system was designed in such a way so that they have as little access as possible to user data.

Well, I just am really averse to using my cellphone number on anything, because that's supposed to be a work-only thing. I don't like mixing work and furry stuff.

I do hope that they drop the requirement eventually, but it does at least stop trolls from making dozens of accounts to harass people. This was a huge problem for me on Discord. In any case, it's impossible for anyone to find you via your phone number, or for anyone on there to see your phone number.
I really hope you drop by my chat. ^^ You seem like a nice guy tbh. I always see you making journals to help people raise money they need, that's really considerate of you.
