I recently learned the reason IB was always so fucking slow, like dialup speeds, with many images only finished loading after the 3rd refresh and minutes of waiting.
If that happens to you, go to your settings, scroll down to "misc" and change "Content Delivery Server".
Mine was on autodetect and the one it Autodetected was LA.Changing it to "Main Server" and we're back in this millenia
