Lore Q&A!

by
Hey, all! Got to thinking how there's a fair amount of lore and stuff for Altrue I don't get to talk about unless it's in a story, so I figured I'd post this and let you all ask questions if you'd like. So if there's anything you're curious about him, his family, or his world, fire away!

Alright, I've got one for you. Given some of your images for them seem to be in a modern setting, and even in the tribal setting Altrue and Co have a few more modern twists in how they live, and on top of that the joke picture you had from the avian researchers trying to figure out Altrue's family dynamics, is the setting one with higher tech outside the dragon/wolf tribes? With the Witch hut story it seems there's wreckage from a previous culture around the place, one with very potent magic/science (I'd count even temporary reverse ageing as pretty high end) where did that go?
Was there a great apocalypse that reset everyone, or are the birds just that much more advanced? Or is it just a one time silly gag and some non-cannon short stories?

So Altrue’s “island” (it’s really about the size of Iceland) exists kinda centered in a sea surrounded by other landmasses. These landmasses progressed in technology while the island didn’t, staying roughly around the level of tech that the Aztec culture had. That research piece was not a joke image, there really are people on the mainlands trying to study the cultures on the island. They are trying to study from afar using drones as to not disrupt this society.

The age regression story is non-canon. It was just a fun little one I wanted to write, and recently I clarified it by adding non-canon to the title. Basically everything up to the point where they de-age is real, but not after that.

I have gotten comms in the past before I really nailed down the tribal setting. These could also be considered not canon to the real timeline.

If there’s any “modern touches” in the tribal pieces it’s not intentional, and I’m curious what you mean? Could you provide some examples?

Neat, a little like small aboriginal communities being left undisturbed today (save by very foolish missionaries), the chaos that would be caused by an avian drone running out of battery mid-observation...
As for the modern touches, well they live in a home with a modern layout (multiple bedchambers, separate cooking area, dedicated lounge space), and they cook in a very modern manner with what sounds a lot like the equivalent of a range cooker and specialised utensils. But then, living next to a Mesolithic village, I'm a bit sensitive to those details.

The temple is very “modern” I guess you could say in its layout. There are multiple rooms and such. As for cooking, they don’t have any kind of range. Just a dining area and a place to prepare food. They use the firepit to cook on.

At what age did Karin and the twins start actively mating with each other and thier perants? Also will you be writing any storys/chapters involving this subject?

Their virginities were taken on the twins' 10th birthday! Karin was 9, just a few months shy of 10 as he was conceived a few months after the twins. Altrue and his moms wanted to wait until they were the same age as Altrue was when he first had sex. After that it became as routine as it was for the adult, at least a couple times a day.

I think it could be fun to make a story involving it. I don't have anything in works atm, but it's not out of the question!

Omg!😻 I would totally go gaga to for a few good chapters about Karin being raised bonding with his sisters, learning life lessons, getting disciplined and loved all leading up to a sex ed birthday smash😹. Love your work!😽

Thank you! I'll have to look into thinking up a story for something like that.

When you say Karin was conceived by Altrue by accident, what exactly does that mean? Because I'm picturing Altrue Masturbating and then putting his own seed inside his vagina.

So what I mean is, he wasn't the intended 'father'. His mothers wanted to get him pregnant, but couldn't decide on who would do it. Eventually they decided they would have a roulette, where they came inside him at the same time. However, this was after they had spent some time riding him and letting him work off his heat with them. What ended up happening is; he came and some dripped down onto his pussy. When his mothers went inside him, they unknowingly pushed his own cum into him and got him pregnant with his own child.

it there is a lore reason why in altru family inbreeding doesn't seem like a problem like the grace of the fertility goddess
Altrue

No particular lore reason, just that realistic problems like that ruin the fun. I suppose if pressed I would just say that their species is heavily resistant to the normal problems of inbreeding. They are also herms, which means their genetics are plenty wacky already, so that could play into it.

So Tahara is the tribes High Priestess, on account of being a herm, and Elana would presumably take over her duties if Tahara couldn't for whatever reason. It's also stated that having two Hermes at a time is unprecedented (and only getting more unprecedented if Altrue's family has anything to say about it). If both Tahara and Elana were unavailable, would their duties fall to Altrue, and Karin after him? Or would the role go to one of his daughters, seeing as there don't seem to be male priests?

That's right, there was never two herms born at once in the recorded history of the tribe before Tahara and Elana.

The matron of the temple would actually take over for Tahara if she was unavailable for some reason. The matron is who performs the rituals and duties of the priestess if she is unavailable or the tribe is between priestesses at the moment.

Elana and Altrue, and the rest for that matter, were never given the same formal training that Tahara was. They have some idea of her duties, but wouldn't be able to take over if needed.

So, I understand that your dragons have a very long life cycle, but does this mean that they have no contingency if their religious figurehead dies? What would be the string of events following Tahara's death?
Side note, while Altrue may be the pivotal figure for your fiction, given it's her lineage, and she's the vestal "virgin" equivalent, Tahara has a far higher position in my interest. She was first, had the training, and leads the ceremonies, what's the protocol should the worst happen?

Under normal circumstances, when the presiding priestess dies, the work falls to the matron. That’s the contingency. There will always be a matron, and matron in training, at the temple to serve as needed.

If Tahara were to die, her body would be placed in a special area of the Rebirthing Grounds (which is something I haven’t talked about yet) to return to the earth. After a mourning period, Elana, as the next oldest, would be named as the new priestess and given the required training.if she refused, for whatever reason, the responsibility would fall on Altrue and so on if he refused.

Does the family have any particular ceremonies or traditions for giving birth?
Altrue

Huh, that is a very good question! I actually haven't put any thought into that. Considering fertility is a big part of their culture, I want to say yes, they do, but at the moment I don't have any specifics. I'll have to sit down and think about it. Thanks for this question!
