Sai pressure won't work with my Intuos 4!!

Okay so I have tried EVERYTHINGS!! I'm pretty much just giving up, but just in case anyone figured out how to make it work I'd be open to your suggestions. Here is what I have, Intuos 4, Windows 7. My tablet pressure works with all my other programs (sketchbook, Photoshop) just not Sai. Sai used to work with my old Intuos 3.

What I have tried:
-Removing preferences, restart comp
-Update driver, restart comp
-remove driver, restart, install driver, (restart, pretty much after everything restart, k? xD)
-remove all drivers, install older driver
-uninstall all drivers, install driver from the CD the intuos 4 came with
- Checked all my Sai settings everytime (pen is chosen, detection pressure: 0)
-added Sai application to tablet preferences
-backup tablet to an older save
-unplug tablet when Sai is open, replug it in/ + other variations
-turn off PCs tablet settings (pen flick stuff, and that circle thingy that appears when you hold down the pen/mouse, and click splashes)
-uninstall Sai, reinstall many times

(tried many of these multiple times in different orders, no go!)

Nooooothing wooooorks QQ!

Dunno if this is worth mentioning, but after I uninstall sai, and reinstall it, the same colors that were on it before I uninstalled it on the color picker are still there (instead of being default black n white, its the blue colors i had)

Hmmm. Is Sketchbook/Photoshop 64-bit programs? SAI is 32-Bit, so if there's some relation there, that could be a thing.

You can check in your C:/Program Files. If it's in Program Files (x86), then it's a 32-bit program, if it's in Program Files, then it's a 64-bit program. Wacom has different drivers per bit, so it's entirely possible something isn't being written to the right place.

Try opening Photoshop 32-bit, and see if you still have pressure sensitivity.

How do I open it in 32 bit? X3

You have to have both 32 bit and 64 bit versions installed. If you check in your start menu, there would be two version of Photoshop there. One would have "(64 bit)" in it's name, and I think the 32 bit one wouldn't have anything like that in it's name.

It still works with it, and it also works with my PS cs3 version too.

Damn, not entirely too sure then... Try a different SAI? xD

Detection Pressure: 0

This doesn't strike you as problematic?  Try setting it to something else.  :-)

That's actually for minimum detection pressure, so it being at 0 is perfectly fine.

yeah, tried other stuff too which didn't work XP

This article here suggests double-checking your minimum brush size in SAI:

I'll keep looking for other stuff.  Seems there are a -lot- of issues, and everyone finds a different solution.

it's not the min size or any of the brush settings, but I'll go ahead n browse that forum!

Tried the unplugging thing, that didn't work, but I think I if I manage to get ahold of a saved backup from a computer where the Intuos 4 works with Sai...maaaaaaybe...not sure if that's what they are talking about ;I!

Yesh pwease <3 I hope that it'll work. One of these has to work! X3; I tried Sai on my brothers computer, and it works with this tablet...the only problem is his computer is crashzilla when a file starts getting big =/ which is all of my art files lol

Interesting. I have Win 7 on my other laptop and also use an Intuos4 on it with no issue and I rarely alter the settings in the software. Have you tried deleting the entire Sai folder and making sure there aren't any backup files or maybe another install floating around somewhere?

Yeah. Completely deleted it and reinstalled it. Thats why I don't get why it won't work. I know some ppl have it and it works :I merf!

Uhm I has question for you, do you think it would be possible if you could save a backup file for me on your lappy and email me the backup file (not sure if that's even possible x3)

Sorry it took me so long to reply. How about I just host my Sai folder in my public dropbox and you can just copy whatever you think will help?

Hey, I may have found something that would be worth trying. Make sure Sai is shut down, then go to "Programs and Features" and click on the driver stuff for your tablet and then click "Change." In the box that pops up, click both "Remove" buttons, start up Sai and see if that fixes anything.

Sai isn't listed on my programs list

Oh, not for Sai, for the wacom software itself. I think it's ISD Tablet or something like that. (I'm on my tablet PC so I'm not sure if it's labeled the same for the stand alone tablets.)

Also I forgot to send the file, sorry! T.T I slept in waaaay too late and barely had time to eat before coming to work. I'll get it done in the morning if resetting the preferences the other way I mentioned doesn't work.

bear in mind some programs store files in the %APPDATA& folder. and can potentially be left behind after uninstall. this may or may not be the cause. i use a portable version of sai, so i cant verify or deny the use of the appdata folder.
MainStreetBlvd

I wouldn't even get to know where to find such a folder ;(
Zarphus

click start, then in the searchbar, type %APPDATA%

The file in there dissapears when I uninstall the tablet so I guess no remnant is left over

ah okays. uhm, could it be hardware related? perhaps the tablet pen nib is sticking? (on the other hand, that would be apparent- the moment the stylus comes in range of the electrostatic field it'd click down)

i found this on a forum thread-
----
Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> 'Pen Tablet' (With the wacom tablet picture) then I clicked 'Change' at the top.

Now, this thing called 'Tablet Preference File Utility' should come up.
Click the button that says, 'Remove my preference file' AND the bottom button saying, 'Remove all preference files'.
----

but it sounds like you may have tried this.
