I am writing to explain my experience of watching Dead Can Dance perform at the Kimmel Center yesterday. Usually, I do not attend many concerts, but the ones I have seen have always been spectacular and Dead Can Dance was certainly no exception. From the beautiful music to the haunting atmosphere, the band offered something for everyone to enjoy. I especially liked how they combined traditional folk instrumentation with other music genres, which complemented each other very well. Overall, the concert by Dead Can Dance was a very memorable experience and I would definitely recommend everyone to see one of their performances.
Dead Can Dance is a world fusion band from Melbourne, Australia that formed in August 1981 by Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry. Their compositions include aspects of African, Celtic, and Middle Eastern folk music along with Gregorian chant which create immersive soundscapes that can appeal to a wide audience. Currently, the band has produced nine full-length albums and continues to perform around the world.
