Just got back from watching it, and i'm happy to report that it didn't suck!
It was very, very okay.
If you're a fan of the franchise/games, you'll probably dig it.
If you're a fan of horror movies... maybe not so much.
I mean there 'were' horror elements, but it felt more like an emotional thing, trying to tug at your heartstrings a bit. ..and it almost sorta did in one scene towards the end.
There are kills, but they're very pg-13 kills that feel a little 'meh'.
I feel like this movie would've been a bit more interesting if they just cranked up the violence a notch or two. Not make it a gorefest or anything, but.. make me be afraid of these things.
The sets and animatronics looked great, really good job with those.
The actors were alright, maybe hamming it up a little here and there, but it was fine.
The story is.. I don't even know what the fuck. It starts out okay, but gets a little "what the fuck.." towards the end, but hey.. it's a videogame movie, so whatever I guess.
I really wanna watch it again, because I feel like its stuffed with tons of little easter eggs that I missed.
Overall I give it a
"pretty good"/10.
