In the past week I’ve had a couple people message me with similar questions of “how do you sketch so much?” so I thought it’d save time in the future to just post about it for anyone who cared.
So I’ve got awful work habits and poor time management skills, but the one thing I’ve done correctly I think is to set myself production quotas that keep me lightly pressured so I don’t ever completely freeze up. And it’s a fairly low bar: Seven sketches per week (equivalent to one per day) and one color image per month. And I’ve still managed to not make that quota at least a few times since I started it years ago. And I often scramble at the end of a week/month to meet it. But other times when my mood’s a bit better I’m able to keep going and do way more than the bare minimum because getting started is the real hurdle. And a small quota helps me get started.
