PitW update

Kris reported on FaceBook that he tried 5 more artists, sending them 'test scripts' but none of them met his expectations (I think this is his way of saying he pissed off five more artists). PitW as a comic is now officially dead as Kris declared he is giving up and redoing the books as a novel series with illustrations. He is a writer so there will be no one to irritate him but himself. I wonder if he will piss himself off while he is converting the comics into text novels...
I did tease him a little by telling him I was still available and offered to do a test script that he did not have to pay for. I did this knowing, and acknowledging, that he quit the comics, so I can't wait to see his normally rude or sarcastic reply. It should be very amusing.

That's too bad.  When I found the comic, I really liked it and I'd love to see it continue but, if he's that difficult to deal with, I guess it's a good thing it won't go any further.

He had his search on his patreon page where he made the announcement and posted his requirements for the artists; so he did lie, especially with artists #2 and #3. He said it has to be in a manga style (which is what he wanted for all of his comics) but those two artists made the character in western style and he accepted that. His biggest complaint (his claim) is that no one could match his script style (so I imagine that is where the greatest stress with the artists must come from, he probably gets angry at them as they try to please him and everyone gets frustrated enough to quit).

Well, fortunately(?) I'm not an artist and I couldn't afford to add another one to be a patron of so I never read his Patreon page.  But, if he's as hard to work with as you say (and I don't doubt it), it may be a good thing I never was a patron.  I like your work and I enjoy the comics you draw and post so I'm not really losing anything with him not allowing PitW to be published here any longer.

I was the only one who posted anything to do with PitW here on IB, at least recently. Kris never did and I'm not sure if any of the other artists did either.
If you want to read the novelization, go to this link which allows you to read it without being a patreon, but I assume to read the rest one would have to unless he posts it on his website.

Oh! It's a shame the news Peter is the Wolf the comic has died. (TWT) I will always remember you for all the years that you made me laugh, cry, be happy, get excited and a lot.
The author Kriss Overstreet the only thing I ask with all my heart is that you be faithful to the comic and keep the original story of him by turning it into a graphic novel.
That you don't screw it up like the Disney company using their classic movies turning into live action but changing the story and saying that in the end it's the same, it's complete garbage.
Omegaltd have always been very patient with Kriss and that means a lot knowing how he treats artists for not meeting certain criteria. My personal opinion you were the most worthy of putting a proper end to the comic Peter is the Wolf I have always liked to see your style of art with the comic. I just wish maybe in the near future we'll see an ending to the Peter is the Wolf graphic novel with your art style would be a great tribute to the comic while being true to the original story.

Your comments are appreciated. Kris of course will never read it nor would he care to. He posted a sample of the novelized first page so eventually, unless he gets into an argument with himself, fans will be able to read what happens at the end of the series. I reminded him I was still available just to basically rub in how foolish he is being. After he called me a plagiarist when I proposed a dragon version of PitW (and showing him a rough draft of the first page) I stopped the Peter is the Wolf: Generations authorized fanfic which I tried to keep as canon as possible. He would deny it but we worked together on that. He did start getting angry when many asked about which form a child would be born in. He considered an 'authorized fanfic' as a contradiction in terms but I did not argue the difference with him. He did not care that I respected his copyrights or how much respect I was trying to show him.

A real shame. I liked the original comic back in the day but knowing the dude who was making it was so wishy washy really is just frustrating.

I'm rather glad you are not under his thumb or anything.

He does have a tendency to ruin the story lines.... like with the side stories, CHICHICHAN, Milkmaid... all of which started off very well and then he ruined. I read the first page of the PitW novel. He is adding some details not shown in the comic (which is the same as movies not showing many details from the book) but it still does not give me the impression of PitW. It reads like a normal, every day story.

Yeah, it was a simple "Here is a guy who accidentally made his girlfriend a werewolf and she's fuckhuge when she transforms and we have funny and sexy shenanigans" but then he fucked that up and started some moronic plot about some douche trying to use her for something.

Every time I read stories like that, i get personally insulted because of how downright childish the writing and characters are.

Oh, you did art for that comic? Never made that connection there, I followed the comic for a bit, but never realized you did some of the art for it.

A pitty that the comic has died now, always wondered where it would lead to.

No, I did not do any of the art for PitW. I had permission to do a spin off: Peter is the Wolf: Generations, which takes place 15 years after the end of the original series. I did the first portion of the original PitW in digest form and in cross hatching instead of computer toning which was proposed to Overstreet but he rejected that. However, he did say since these are my art, I can sell the originals. The PitW I can not make copies of to sell but PitWG I can, but I choose not to because Overstreet accused me of plagiarism when I proposed a dragon version of PitW. He could of just said no. But now I can't trust him to keep his word and permissions even though I have it in writing and in a court of law he would lose. I don't need all that headache so I am selling the originals to the work I did .
