Alright, so, I've been without my desktop computer for a few days now.
Just the other day, my desktop's power supply lit up like the 4th of July. I unplugged it and sought to get a new one... but by the time that happened, it was already too late, and the stores were closed. That's fine, I thought, I'd get one the next day. I remembered a long time ago when I got to work, my now current roommate handed me a wad of cash and asked me to run to Staples real quick to get him a power supply.. I got him a decent one at around 500-600w, which is exactly what I need now.
Knowing this happened, I went to Staples the next day... and they didn't have shit.
"What's the point of being the only chain store that deals with computers in town if you're not even going to supply power units?" I thought to myself in my immediate frustration. Well, I'd look in other places suggested to me then.
The Source? Nothing. I'm desperate now. Wal-Mart Electronics? Zellars Electronics? Nothing of course, I should have figured that. With all the major stores in town being utter disappointments, I had to turn instead towards the locally owned computer stores.
One is called "Computers and Software," quite simply. I had to wait until today to actually go there, but... Well guess what? The guy who own it is rich, so he decided he was going to be closed on Wednesdays. There isn't a single other store in town that's closed on Wednesdays for no reason whatsoever. At this point, I'm frustrated to shit. My last chance? A place called Total eWorks.
I was told not to go to eWorks because it sold out-dated equipment. But I had no other alternative now. I walked in and looked at the power supplies they had. They sold them, which was more than any other store in town could say... But they only had two. Yes, two. And they were both the same model, and both only 400w. My computer has a higher power demand.
So for the thrid day in a row, I come home empty handed. For the third day in a row, I'm cut off from things like all my writing, my art folder, Second Life, and being able to go on Livestream without lagging the shit out of my entire system. I am condemned to this crappy laptop, whose 'E' key is falling off and power cable is held together by duct tape (both problems being the fault of those I've let use it, not my own).
I've ordered a power supply in the mail... If I'm lucky, I might have it by Friday.
But really, is it too much to ask that something goes my way? This has to be the WORST end to summer I've ever had - worse than when I knew summer ending meant I was going back to school.
