Sonic 4 episode 2 question

I'm trying to get the 7th emerald in the game and having trouble doing so. All i want to know is near the 2nd part of the special stage where you get 350 rings you got to go in a loop to get the rings at the top. How the heck do u go in a loop? it been bugging me for a couple days

the trick is to be going fast enough and and the string item the lets sonic and tails collect the rings between them, hold down the boost then slightly before the loop hold the direction you want to go. i think its left its been a abit since i did it
