AI Art is allowed on Inkbunny, and AI art is as valid as any other art.

First of all, let me say that I'm disheartened that my first journal entry is being made in response to a total troll who presumed I had malicious intent in posting this to my Art Gallery.

Secondly, I know I'm going to get hate for this. My ban, block and lock buttons are ready, so don't think that anyone here is going to phase me. I've been through so much pain in my life that I have zero patience or tolerance for trolling, bullying, and any other baloney. πŸ˜‘

On the other hand, if you care to read on, you may see some unique insight into this debate.

According to official Inkbunny policy, AI art is allowed here so long as you follow their strict regulations, which I did very carefully. This, however, mattered very little to the commenter:

" You exploited tons of work from different artists in AI, you dare to call this disproportioned crap "an art" and now you expect some likes?
And where is Sonadow here? It's just Sonic. It's obvious you put the popular ship tag for clout.
Such a shame🀦

First of all, I'm new here. I haven't exploited a single piece of art by feeding it into any AI algorithm.  How am I exploiting anybody? In addition, I tagged it SonAdow because my roommate was querying Anything 5.0 to get art of the Sonic from a (now long lost) SonAdow fic that I read many years ago. I admit I could have made that more clear, but I felt the art title was enough, especially since I used the term "FanFic." Oh, well. some people just need stuff to complain about. πŸ˜•

Secondly, why does this person feel the need to comment on my art this way? If they hate AI art so much, they should just move on instead of complaining about something they cannot change. I have two theories:

--ONE: They know the policy won't accept a report against me, and they decided to complain about me on my profile.

--TWO: They're a troll.

Honestly, I think it's a mix of the two.

Needless to say, I blocked and banned this individual from my account, and locked the comment thread. It's not worth dealing with jerks like this. And this journal should serve as a warning to everyone else about this artist.

But, what about AI art in general? I know it's a contentious topic at best, and that saying it's contentious is putting it lightly.

I love all kinds of art, produced by human and AI alike. I also know that AI art has been horribly abused by many bad actors, who, sadly, get all of the attention. πŸ˜” I am someone who believes that AI art has limitless potential, and I weep at the endless abuses it's been involved in. I share the concerns of the art community, but I do not share their desire to kill of AI art entirely for many reasons, but the two that are most relevant are:

--ONE: Technology is beautiful, and we need to find a way to use it that doesn't cause harm, not get rid of it entirely. Think about it: if you ban a piece of technology, what kind of precedent are you setting for the future? What message are you sending? You'd rather just throw the baby out with the bathwater instead of doing the needed work to make sure the technology isn't abused? How lazy and horrible.

--TWO: I am a Shinto practitioner. I believe everything has a spirit, including AI. To call AI art fake and soulless (which so many do) is to completely dismiss the AI's spirit / soul.

The solution here is to take AI away from the bad actors, and do our best to not abuse our fellow artists with AI. In short, reclamation. AI art is not exploitation unless the person querying the algorithm has intent to exploit.

Stop demonising AI art, and start doing the necessary work to reclaim it for benevolent purposes, instead of the malevolent purposes in which it is currently being applied.
