Project Soulstealer: Online

Good time of day, everyone. I greet you here, on a free platform, where everything is possible. There is no snobby FA+ subscriptions, and no rules that can be abused for one's profit on a whim. Inkbunny is now a Soulstealer domain. A domain for a creature, that eats something that does not exist. (Got it? Because souls do not exist, this is but a religion construct that was made in an attempt to control human behavior by promising everlasing punishments if humans do not abide certain rules)

I will tell you everything you need about history of this Project, about why, when and where, in this post. Buckle up, we are in a long ride.

When? It all started long-long ago, when I've met a good starting Artist - let's call it Human Zero (0). As usual per these cases, 0 had its favorite artists whom he tried to copy, and desperately wanted to survive in this harsh cold world we call Earth. And so it did. Clinging for its life, 0 did its best to imitate pretty popular artist's style, to try and get it as its own, firmly believing that if its style was one of a matching to that popular artist, it would get a lot of followers, and therefore, a lot of commissions, and therefore, a lot of money - and, therefore, a better chance at survival.
Und oh boy did 0 grew! Its style was changing right before our eyes. It got better understanding of anatomy, gradients, shadows and highlights, colors and etc. Until a certain point. Then... something clicked. 0 stopped evolving. Well, it did reached its goal, I suppose - its idol, its favorite artist acknowledged 0's existence and got it under his wing. And that was the point I love to call Artist's Death. Not physically, no.

You see, up until Summer 2022, Artists had a pure untainted monopoly, and so did 0. Nobody would contest them. There simply was no actual contest to begin with, as each and every artist was either unique or burned by a more popular artists. And when you do monopolize some resource or skill, you can set any price on it, and, more than that, forbid any normal relationship between them and rest of the people. Artists were free to set absolutely any deadline they wanted, fail those deadlines, come up with different reasons, and were absolutely not controlled when it came to quality of final result. So, 0 had the exact same fate. With no competition, it simply stopped evolving. Why get better, if there is literally nothing anyone can do to prevent it? Well... not anymore.

Where? On the endless pages of World Wide Web, a certain company did a first release of a public model, called Stable Diffusion 1.0. A simple idea - generate a noise, clear noise until something good comes out. At first it was laughably bad. But then a 1.2 verson came, 1.4, and, finally, 1.5. Not to mention other closed-source models, such as Novel and MJ. And Artists suddenly realized. They DO have competition.

Well, history loves to repeat itself. And as we saw and read a million times about a men in power, so did Artists, who got in exact same situation. Something contested their monopoly. Something tried to get in power. The power they considered theirs. Not only that - it was actually good and successful at that! And all those years they've spent on learning their craft - were reduced tenfold in a single day. Hey. That is quite understandable, you know.

But as Artists were too lazy, too comfy with their monopoly, they could not have predicted that outcome. They thought that they can forever repeat the cycle. And instead of searching for opportunities and finding a root of the problem (spoiler alert: it is because they stopped evolving) - they... threwn hysterical tantrums. Like a 8 year olds, when they suddenly realized that they are no longer getting all the attention because Joey was just born. Just look at all these actions they took, and you will see - there is nothing logical or grown-up in them at all.

So a wave of riots engulfed Internet. For a month. Or even two. And then, I guess, everyone is finally realized, what happened.

Why? So, the Project Soulstealer was created. Reason for its existance is simple - to help Artists get better. To give them information, to encourage them to continue actively developing their skills. The reason is surprisingly easy. You see, I firmly believe that if one man achieved something, there always be an Asian who will do the same in its sleep. Err... I believe that if One achieved something, then Many can as well. So if I got some picture - then everyone else can get it, given enough time (but this time is not a month-like deadline, it is a matter of days). And if they can, they will. Because, lets face reality, a monopoly is a thing that everybody actively hates. And when finally given an opportunity to break free of this stalemate, there will be everyone who will use that opportunity. But if I got the picture, then Artists will know, what they must improve in themselves, to create an actual, good, rivaling opportunities. SD can do more pictures per hour, but Artists can do better per picture. The question is - how much better they can go? This, and only this, will be deciding factor on tomorrows market. And, lets face it. It is a market. If it is exchanged anything for money - it is a Market, and now there is somebody who will do same thing.

This project is a constant warning, an evolution factor, a reminder. You are not a monopolists. You are not in power. You are not kings and queens, and even if you were - you should always remember how people treated tyrants. If you see image posted here - it means that somewhere, there is another person who most probably monetizes this picture right now, probably, makes hundreds of variants, and they all contain same quality for the buck. You will clash. Inevitably. If you are not prepared for it, you will break. Therefore... the Project is here to prevent you from breaking.

How?! - will you ask. Answer is simple. Look at the images. Identify what Soulstealer (and therefore any neural network) does the worst. Capitalize on that. This, and only this is your current survival strategy. Not because you have a mental disorders. Not because you try look petty and powerless. Not because you have large families, gf/bfs or pets. You will win only if you will be able to provide Quality against Quantity.

But if you are still throwing tantrums... well... what could I say... As old tale goes, with one's friends, he needs no enemies. Also, one other - the old enemy is better than the new one.
The more you try to restrict and limit the power of Soulstealer (instead of evolving), the more it will go out of your control. The more you try to protect a specific person from this Project, the more it will affect this person specifically.
Let me give you quick example.
The project was initially hosted on Furaffinity - and someone wanted to see it gone. Well, it did disappear.
Now it is here. But Inkbunny forces me to provide the prompts, forces me to provide the inputs so everyone can repeat that - and I comply with the rules. Now you got an army of someone like me. Army of people who can do same thing as I did.
And if you go one step further - if you try to remove this 'enemy' from Inkbunny - it will go even farther, beyond your reach - to a multiple imageboards (4chan, 2chan, chinese, russian), to a multiple discord servers... and it will not only contain forced instructions, but it will contain as fully described repeating manual as possible. Where your powers, your monopoly would never reach them at all.

Currently, this world web site allows for an ai_generated and ai_assisted images, as long as it can be repeated. And, well, I will make sure that my process can be repeated by anyone. Although I will employ certain experiences, plugins, and techniques that will take some experience and is somewhat time-consuming, to slow down the progress of others, but believe me - it won't hold anyone for long. And, well, I will make sure that I follow all rules set here.

I will repeat my message.
My goal is to help Artists in any way, shape or form possible. If my actions help anyone to free themselves from chains of false friendship, restore a reality vision, or actually help developing their skills further - then this Project did absolutely great.
This project does not exist to be monetized, and won't reap any profit from Art. It does not mean that anyone else wouldn't. It only means that I will not.

Now, let the reign of Soulstealer begin.

PS: Getting into a friendlist would yield more examples of meticiously crafted artwork, as well as 'pre-release' insights on a new artworks if there would be one. To do so - just PM me with a message consisting of a single word - MindIsSoftwareBodyIsDisposable, and you will be near-automatically given a friend access. And, yes. This way of getting in my friendlist is literally for those who got guts and time to read journals till the end. Also, if you did read this journal till the end, you unlocked yourself...

Additional possibilities (for Artists).

1) Overtaking ownership of a picture.
If you consider yourself an original artist of a picture, and want to take its ownership to yourself, you are more than welcome to do so, yet, it is not that easy. To declare yourself as an Original Artist, you need to complete next steps:
* You should use the picture in question as your baseline - be it background, palette, pose, creature or mix of any of those.
* You may make fixes onto picture in question directly, or create a completely new picture, using same concepts.
* You must provide a link to your work in comments to a picture in question.
If your work is similar enough, but contains obvious correct fixes to perspective, anatomy, fluid handling and other stuff, and looks obviously superior - the Project shall immediately follow next steps:
* A picture in question receives a link to a Original Art.
* A picture in question receives a rename, containing words 'claimed' and name of claimed artist.
* A picture in question immediately is moved to Scrap.
* Finally, possibly a new picture is generated to represent current, freshest state of technologies. New picture will follow the same ruleset as any other picture - it will represent a creature that was never seen in similar styleset.
In case you simply copied picture without making any changes, but claimed it as yours, none of the steps above will be taken.

2) Requesting generations on-demand.
By any officially registered way (a way that allows to pinpoint exact time of event, and is irremovable/inconterfeitable), for example, by leaving DM, shout or a comment, the Artist may express a desire to get latest information about current level of technologies, by way of asking for a freshest generation. This request can be announced once per month. This request may contain details, such as existence of specific creature types / background / etc. on the image; yet contents of request must abide Project's rules - and more specifically - targeted artist must have never produced that type of art/featuring that creature. In case this rule is broken, Project will make such picture at random.
Request explicitly grants a single-time permit to use an artist name in prompting for this exact generation, and screenshot of that permit is made, stored in Discord server, and attached to a description of final image.
Within next couple of days, Project will produce new image and store it in Inkbunny gallery. The following steps would be ensured:
* Name of picture will contain tag [ARequest] and full name of Artist.
* Description of picture will contain link to a screenshot with proof that request had a place to be.

Additional possibilities (for Anyone).

1) Requesting a picture.
I have dynamic ruleset about what I generate. But there is some core rules that I tend to stick to:
* I generate only items that can be repeated by anyone with similar style.
It means, that if a specific artist with similar style does not draw certain types of pictures, for example, cubs, then my generations should never include cubs, even if I possess that ability. In case of multiple artist sharing same style, but some having the kink and some does not, then kink could be included.
* I generate items that anyone with similar style had not made yet.
It means, if there is an artist style that made at least one fox, and I generate image with similar style to his (and I got fox), I shall never post it, as foxes already exist by authorship of similar style. If multiple artist share style, and at least one of them have foxes, then I will stop myself from generating foxes.
* I tend to mix artists together.
So if I can mix examplatory Protogens in other styles, and artist of that style complies both to 1 and 2 rule, then I should do that eventually.

There can be more limiters, but that is pretty much core ones.
But do not be shy to send a private message at this project in hopes of getting a specific picture for a specific reason. If criteria would meet, you will get it for free (eventually)! Only way to know if that is possible or not - is to ask! :)
